BUT, he reinterates what he said last night...that a hugh majority of his e-mail has made him realize that MOST Americans do not care about this....like the media do. That's because Americans don't feel insulted upon behalf of the elitist media not being first in the know. Why the pressers think for a minute Americans give a damn about their injured sensibilities is anyone's guess.

both DEM and GOP...who seem SO "holier-than-thou" over this Katrina thing.Nobody will say what, imho, needs to be said, which is that there is no way that you can hope for a big, bloated government bureaucracy with it's Harvard MBA flow charts and inflated egos to work in a disaster. The only government "agency" that you can count on is the US military. They will tweak this, but that won't fix it. More money will pour in and that won't fix it either. I know this and they know it too, but no one will say it.

Cheney admits to having a beer at lunch that dayThat will become taking a keg with them into the fields.
To: Republican Red
Could you provide a link to your statement that Cheney had a beer at lunch? There is no link since I heard it while watching Brit Hume discuss this on Fox News channel just a few minutes ago.

You are probably very correct...I am sure that Cheney is still very worried...
Fred is spewing the line that it is better to tell reporters sooner....so it doesn't make them mad.
PUH-leeeze...who cares if the media gets mad.
To: frankjr; Howlin
Unfortunately, there will be undue focus on a beer. The only appropriate amount of alcohol around firearms is zero for at least 8 hours. Many people will talk about how many hours transpired, and that nobody was intoxicated. It will get blown out of proportion now, for sure.
To: kcvl
I'm sure there will be a hundred links by evening.

Oh, geez, listen to Shep: if Cheney had come to the camera on Day One...
Drama queen.

Krauthammer is right. Vice President Cheney willingly took the heat to protect his friend and his family.
I have never had more respect for Dick Cheney than I do right now.
Pray for him!!

Ah, so Fred advocates appeasement of the Washington press core...of which he is a part.
Keep talking Fred.
The more you idiots spout off the less the rest of us have to emphasize what FOX has become. You are a perfect illustration.

While I don't give a doo diddly about the msm and what they get when, I do think Cheney should have made an announcement Sunday at the latest. Finally talking to FNC four days later is ridiculous.

Why the pressers think for a minute Americans give a damn about their injured sensibilities is anyone's guess. Because that's how important they think they are; they honestly believe if they don't tell us, it didn't happen.

I know.
Not living inside the beltway, I don't see a big deal.
Shep is "peppering" Barnes with questions isn't he?
To: Txsleuth
LOL, poor Fred, no wonder the MSM has run rings around them, (the conservative press), for decades.
Which is why a mag like National Review remains unread, and RAGS like Newsweak and Time are in every waiting room in America.
They will never learn.
