Please take a moment to call the C-Span office to let them know you would like to see the Able Danger hearings today. The hearing starts at 2:30 eastern time today. It is not on their schedule and when I called C-Span they said they did not know if or when they would run the hearing. Then I called Congressman Weldon's office and they are baffled that C-Span is not running the hearing. I told Weldon's office I would put this thread up and hopefully enough people will call C-Span to encourage them to run the hearings live.
Call C-Span- Main Number: (202) 737-3220

"Rush today did question the decision to let an United Arab Emirates' company run major seaside ports in the United States.
Savage is not the lone Ranger on that one."
Rush and Savage aren't alone in there concern for Americas safety!

I hope we screamed at C-Span enough for them to broadcast it, it was hard keeping up with only the audio.
Well, I think he may want to look into the early history of the program and what was being done with it by and for whom. It may relate to why the 9-11 info wasn't used.
How did the hearing go today?
*bah* .. they are saying it's d/l 15x already. Maybe we can find a way to host it for you.
Ok... I'm officially dumb. :P I got it... thanks!

Hehehe.... call *me* impatient! :P This will be easier than getting my other half to read through the thread! THANK YOU!
Cynthia McKinney gets contributions from Islamicists. She shouldn't be trusted with any top secret info.

Let us hope they nail Gorelick. That's the one thing, if nothing else, that I want to see come out of this.
Former Dep Director of DIA. Served under ADM Jacoby who hurriedly put in his request to retire as it looked more and more like Weldon was going to keep Able Danger alive.
The #2, for strange reasons, can't retire so he put in for a transfer. I don't know where he is today.
Got this mostly from captainsquarterblog from Oct. 10, 2005 date.
So she finds herself dumped off the bus at some forsaken crossroads maybe.
I only got to really listen to about 45 minutes or so and I typed transcripts as I went along so you could search under my name for those posts.
Weldon and an unknown congresswoman (I listened on the computer so couldn't capture all the names and parties) were very passionate and wished that C-span was covering it and that all American people could hear it.
Weldon asked 3-4 AD witnesses there today if they think they could have stopped 9/11 with the information they had if they'd been allowed to proceed and they all answered yes.
There was some comment by Weldon that was a blockbuster about how AD found information about Chinese procurements which involved Washington, D.C. well known names and did the witnesses think that was one reason why the program was stopped and they answered yes.
Three of the 4 witnesses responded that the pressure to stop them from testifying was intense and one guy lost 2 jobs as a result of his coming forward.
Shaffer had his attorey with him and documents were submitted into the record which cleared Shaffer of all the made up charges against him.
They broke around 6:00 to permit the room to be swept of bugs and then resumed under closed door session.
I don't know when or if they will resume in open session.
As you probably know, Gorelick was no. 2 person in the Dept. of Justice under Clinton and Reno was no. 1. Word is that Gorelick was really running the Dept.
Gorelick's song is that the CIA was to be used only for international intelligence and the FBI was domestic only. She didn't want the departments to share info.
Which is, all in all, a pretty good point to make.
However, if the CIA came across info about domestic terrorists such as Mo Attah (sp?) shouldn't that info have been shared with the FBI?
She did issue memos forbidding interdepartmental cooperation. Which we now know led directly to not only 9/11 but also the Cole incident and who knows what else?
She keeps saying she did nothing wrong. I don't know about that.
I do know that if the info was shared, things would have, or should have, been different.
Well .. that's not what Weldon says. In his news conference, he said that a high level person in the Pentagon stepped in and stopped the harassment of Shaffer. He has been reinstated and will not lose his pay or his medical insurance for his family.
I'd take bets on who that "high level" person was and I'd be the winner.
