A Turkish movie featuring American actor Gary Busey as a Jewish U.S. army doctor who cuts out the organs of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib and sells them to wealthy foreign clients is breaking all box office records in Turkey.
Valley of the Wolves: Iraq (Kurtlar Vadisi: Irak in Turkish) is set for release in a dozen Arab and European countries and the producer is at the current Berlin International Film Festival to find distributors for the United States and additional markets.
The film's arch villain is a rogue American officer, played by Billy Zane, who is a self-professed "peacekeeper sent by God." He and his men shoot up an Iraqi wedding party, killing the groom in the presence of the bride and a little boy in front of his mother.
Since few people in the United States have heard of the movie, and none have seen it, Jewish organizations have not commented so far. But some conservative columnists, including Debbie Schlussel of FrontPageMagazine.com, have urged Jewish doctors to refuse medical treatment for Busey or Zane, should the occasion arise.
An op-ed in the New York Sun characterized the storyline as "Rambo as written by Jane Fonda and Michael Moore."

In 'Valley of the Wolves,' Gary Busey (R) plays a Jewish doctor selling the organs of Iraqi prisoners on the black market.
did Busey fall of another Motorcycle again recently????
Is this the same Gary Busey who had a highly publicized conversion to Christianity a few years ago?
Billy Zane and Gary Busey are B-actors starring what is essentially a political porn movie, sending their so-called careers further into the crapper, to be blunt.
And yet for some reason, Palestinians keep going to Israeli hospitals.
Mrs VS
This was the most expensive Turkish movie ever made, IIRC (at about $10 million US).
Probably its production values (sets, camera work, etc.) are first rate.
It's an action thriller, in which the Turkish commandos are the heros.
Naturally it's a hit in Turkey.
It's quite possible that Busey and Zane (who would speak their parts in English) have only a vague idea of what the rest of the script is about, since it is in Turkish).
They may only have flown in to Turkey for a couple of weeks' work, done their parts, and left town with their paychecks.
Before Gary Busey career goes quietly to the crapper, he is going to play to an Audience to help stir up their Anti-American and Anti-Semitic feelings.

Yep. It's also the same Gary Busey who apparently will take any movie oppty he can get....and he's obviously not getting many opportunities.
And when Billy Zane shot the groom and the kid in the head during filming, do you think he wondered then what kind of movie he was making?
"Before Gary Busey career goes quietly to the crapper,"
Before?? We watch "The Soup" on E!, and Busey has been a favorite target of theirs for a while. Gary was doing some truly painful to watch "Reality TV" last year, and he looked like an escapee from a mental hospital then...

Yeah, Busey was on some Celebrity Fitness something or other where a bunch of fat, undermotivated has-beens are trying to lose weight in a circus atmoshpere. Based on what I saw, Busey is not stable mentally.
Do the TURKS think this will get them a front row seat in the EU?
THE AMERICAN WEASEL
As this is the third...fourth...fifth???? article about this flic [bandwith police?] and the folks jump right in that Busey has been born-again, makes one a tad suspicious...
Yeah. That's the ticket. It will be a big help to their cause!
Here's more from the article:
"Vickie Roberts, Busey's attorney for the past six years, said that the actor was not giving any interviews but defended her client on constitutional grounds. 'There is something in this country called the First Amendment that protects freedom of expression,' she said, 'I hope we are not returning to the McCarthy era.'"
1) There's a First Amendment in Turkey? As far as we know, this movie hasn't made it into the US yet, so what is she talking about?
2) If we are going to agree this is a first amendment issue, it was Justice Oliver Holmes who said it wasn't for "falsely shouting fire in a theatre and causing a panic." It can be argued that this film is about creating panic.
3) McCarthyism? Who's demonizing who here? It seems to me that the creators of this film are the McCarthyites, if the term is understood as a perjorative.
