Secret audiotapes of Saddam Hussein discussing ways to attack America with weapons of mass destruction will be the subject of an ABC "Nightline" program Wednesday night, a former federal prosecutor told Cybercast News Service.
The tapes are being called the "smoking gun" of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq. The New York Sun reported that the tapes have been authenticated and currently are being reviewed by the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
The panel's chairman, Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.), declined to give the Sun details of the content or context of the recordings, saying only that they were provided to his committee by former federal prosecutor John Loftus.
Loftus has been tight-lipped about the tapes, telling the Sun only that he received them from a "former American military intelligence analyst."
On Tuesday night, Loftus told Cybercast News Service that ABC's "Nightline" would air an "extensive report" on the tapes Wednesday night. Loftus also described an ABC News "teaser," which reportedly contains audio of Saddam Hussein discussing ways to attack America with WMD. "Nightline will have a lot more," said Loftus.
This year's Intelligence Summit will bring together top terrorism experts including Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, author of "Funding Evil," 9/11 investigator Jean-Charles Brisard, author of "Zarqawi: the New Face of Al-Qaeda;" former CIA agent Michael Scheurer, author of "Imperial Hubris," and Richard Marcinko, former head of SEAL Team Six, and author of "Rogue Warrior."
The Intelligence Summit will be featured not only in the Wednesday Nightline report but also on ABC World News Tonight.

As long as we can spin it that he would simply be giving WMDs to terrorists it will be worth it regardless.

Dick Cheney shot the lawyer who conspired with the Iraqi's in Baghdad who drugged Saddam while he was in prison and made him make act in the tapes. Halliburton provided the set and production. Karl Rove was the mastermind who wrote the script.
After ABC is finished chopin it up, a conservative source will eventually put the story bach together. So compose yourself, it will be a classic MSM performance. :-)

This works to ABC's benefit. They come off as non-biased by reporting it and the next day all the RATS will be on the airwaves saying, "just because Saddam talked about using WMD against America doesn't mean he had them."
The people watching the show will go "ahhhh". Next they will tie Able Danger with it and portray it as a Bush issue.
There is an agenda at work here by the RATS. They are going to do everything they can to get all t he information out with their spin on it and try to make it a non issue in the 2006/2008 election cycle.

They will claim that the White House doesn't know about the tapes, that it is years after the Iraq invasion and Bush/Halliburton/Rove allowed the WMD to fall into al Qaeda's hands. This way, every attack on America in the future will be Bush's fault.
I think it's funny how these people have no problem blaming past Republican administrations for things that happen in a later presidency, but past Democrat administrations have nothing to do with the state of affairs during a later Republican one?
Example: Clinton can not be blamed for the 2001 recession or with the rise of al Qaeda. But Reagan and Bush Sr. are to blame for Saddam's horrors.

Well, well, well. Maybe someone at ABC is finally understanding their lousy ratings have been the result of as much what they HAVEN'T reported as the lies they have previously reported.

Nightline will attempt to refute the tapes. I wonder why they were given exclusively to the MSM with the new media cut out of the play?
Zarqawi was just convicted of attacking Jordan with chemical weapons.
He had to have them to be convicted of the attack.
