I listen to his show on the drive to work every morning but missed this announcement. Give us some details, please. Where is he going? When? Will Rose do the show solo or do they have a replacement?

You do know he's joking, don't you? He says he's accepting the offer from the Sheriff in Spotsville as an undercover investigator:

I recall when "The Mighty Quinn" came on the air around 1968. That was his bumper music. Good luck, Q.

Geeze... I listen to Jim here in Detroit through the now "for pay" archive - been listening to him since the early 90's. My reaction to this post was twofold; first, that I would really miss him if it is true, and second, that he isn't the sort of guy who would get a bunch of people to ante up $40.00 and then bail out!
Not being able to listen live, I'm going to have to wait until tonight to catch whatever prompted this. Surely he's just having a bit of fun.

Please tell me this is a joke. My morning would not be complete without Quinn and Rose. Did he announce this today?

You know, I just recalled that he pulled this stunt in the late 60's. He had everyone call into the station to get support for staying on. History repeats itself.

I'm listening to Quinn right now. He keeps changing the name of the county, sheriff, etc. It's got to be a joke.

I'm glad this is a joke. I really enjoyed his show when I lived in his listening area - the more fortunate suburbs of Cleveland.

I haven't lived in the Pittsburgh area for decades, but I was curious if this is the guy who called himself Jim "Your Leader" Quinn?

I liked him better when he was a smaller government advocate.

He's joking. He wants to be a Sherriff's deputy in the county where they let them have sex with prostitutes to catch them.

He's joking. He wants to be a Sherriff's deputy in the county where they let them have sex with prostitutes to catch them. Is the job still available then? [/joking]

In the last 5 years, I've not missed one full week, even at my busiest. I have to say that Jim Quinn has been *the* single most influential person in the lives of my home-schooled kids. (Other than their father and me) I listen, most days, while they do school.
