I heard the spokesman from the hospital remark that his 78-year old heart was healthier than his. He'll be fine. Sorry Donkey Gregory!!!! You and the slimes lose this one too.

Yep, when the man dies 20 years from now of old age, it will have been Cheney's fault!

It would probably be for involuntary manslaughter. This would happen to anyone in a situation like this to determine if it was Cheney's fault, or the other guy's fault. This really is a serious situation for the VP. Hopefully this guy will be okay.

If they transfer him to a Florida hospital and Mikey Schiavo is his nurse...he's doomed...

The odds of him dying simply because he is 78 are already high enough.

You are right Citizen. Hysteria actually makes some people's world go round. And the NYT and the rest of the msm fulfill that for them. Sadly they play right into the demos' hands and don't even know it half the time. They have tunnel vision.

Yep, the demos and the msm are unto themselves an asylum and it's difficult to know who is running it. Karl Rove maybe? :o)

The only time my folks voted Republican was for Reagan. Rest of the time it's been straight demo ticket - so to see Mom's eyes open to what they are doing tells me a lot. Did I mention she is stubborn? :o)

I still don't know why the feds aren't investigating those leaks more strongly - here's the NYT article on the local DA:

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/15/politics/15cheney.html?hp&ex=1140066000&en=4115ca90864b33ca&ei=5094&partner=homepage

Local officials have not considered any charges in the shooting because no one in the hunting party, including the victim, has accused Mr. Cheney of wrongdoing.

"Everybody that I've heard so far has said it was an accident," said Mr. Valdez, who holds an elected position and is a Democrat. "The victim probably told the sheriff's department it was an accident."

Mr. Valdez added, "Now, if the worst happens and the man happens to die, we would take an additional step."

Under the law, even an accidental hunting fatality can result in criminal charges. Mr. Cheney could be charged with negligence, defined as failing to understand the dangers involved and disregarding them, or recklessness, defined as understanding the dangers and disregarding them.

It would probably be for involuntary manslaughter.

I don't know the law in Texas, but in Georgia ... if for some completely absurd reason Cheney was charged with anything ... it would have to be either reckless conduct or negligent homicide, depending on the actual criminal behavior. But that's a huge stretch. This was not just a hunting accident, but I believe the MOST COMMON hunting accident.

For Cheney to be charged there would have to be some kind of proof that he was being criminally careless or purposefully shot this guy.

Whether the guy dies or not, I don't see any possible charges against the VP. Except for not paying the $7 bird stamp.
