It would probably be for involuntary manslaughter. This would happen to anyone in a situation like this to determine if it was Cheney's fault, or the other guy's fault. This really is a serious situation for the VP. Hopefully this guy will be okay.

I don't know the law in Texas, but in Georgia ... if for some completely absurd reason Cheney was charged with anything ... it would have to be either reckless conduct or negligent homicide, depending on the actual criminal behavior. But that's a huge stretch. This was not just a hunting accident, but I believe the MOST COMMON hunting accident.

For Cheney to be charged there would have to be some kind of proof that he was being criminally careless or purposefully shot this guy.

Whether the guy dies or not, I don't see any possible charges against the VP. Except for not paying the $7 bird stamp.
