A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 2.14.06

Today President Bush welcomed the 2005 NCAA National Champion University of Texas Longhorns football team to the South Lawn at the White House, where he congratulated the team and coaches with great humor and warmth.........and a lot of Texas pride! Later in the day, he welcomed members of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation in the Oval Office of the White House. The council, created by the USA Freedom Corps in 2003, promotes volunteerism and recognizes Americans who serve our communities and the world.

First Lady, Laura Bush visited the Giant Pandas at the National Zoo.

Today the news was released that Mr. Harry Whittington, who was accidentally hit with birdshot in a hunting accident with Vice President Cheney, had had a very mild, asymptomatic heart attack. He is being carefully watched and being treated conservatively, and is expected to fully recover. We need to keep Mr Whittington and Vice President Cheney in our prayers. The media are in a feeding frenzy, and are completely out of control.

Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island............ some wonderful photos today on the Daily Dose!! And a Happy Valentines Day to you all!!

David Gregory's wife is Beth Wilkinson who was an assoc.
to Jamie Gorelick in the Clintoon Justice Dept.

In particular David Gregory is a disgrace and IMHO his press pass needs revoking. After all Brit Hume's was for asking Clinton a question he did not like today Gregory just tore into Scott like a madman - do you want a guy like this in the vicinity of the White House.

I agree with you about Imus. I only listen to him occasionally because my radio is tuned to the station that he's on, and that's because for the rest of the day it's all conservative talk show hosts: Glenn Beck, Rush, Hannity, Michael Reagan, and then Laura Ingraham.

"The only positive thing about it, is that it's eating them all up inside, and they are shriveling like the Wicked Witch of the West right before our eyes."

There's no doubt about it, and I think they know it and that's why they're in such a senseless frenzy.

I think you're right, snugs. The VP is as solid as they come and they can't get him to say anything against Bush or his policies. He comes out making stronger statements than the President does on some things, and I think he does that so that he takes their zingers so the president doesn't have to. He's one of the best VPs ever.

It's just unfortunate this had to happened, as it's not over anything important at all, other than the fact that a man was injured. But it has no bearing on policy, the war on terror, or anything like that. It's just something they thought they could get him on, and even after realizing they can't, it's like they can't stop themselves from still trying.

"I knew that there was a lot of hate toward W, but hadn't realized there was so much toward Cheney, until this incident. It's unbelievable the fuss they're making over this. I think they know they can't get him on anything because of this accident, but they're in such a frenzy that they just can't stop themselves. I agree with you about the evil."

There's plenty of hate to go around, sadly. Everyone in this adminsitration is hated and reviled. Everything with this incident was done right (medical care, privacy for the man who as shot, police informed asap), and that makes the other side even MORE angry, I think.

Thanks for the great dose tonight Ohio.

It's been a long day, but I am sure not as long for me as it has been for the Vice President.

Sometimes the press forgets that accidents come with built in consequences...there is not need for them to try to create more.

Prayers for the Cheney family, as well as the family of his friend.

You're exactly right ... it really seems like this is a fight between good and evil on many fronts. The left is grasping for straws to find something against the Bush administration and keep coming up empty which makes them even angrier, as you said.

Vince Young was SO embarrassed about not having a suit.

The President did a good job of putting him at ease.

^^^^^

It seems that even doing things correctly infuriates the haters.

ROFL. That's funny. I know how it is! Funny part is, I don't care!

We officially made a pact not to celebrate Valentine's Day when we started dating. We just get each other gifts for no reason when we find the right thing. Saves money—means more!

LOL.
