The vice president's office just released the following statement:
"The Vice President was told when he arrived at the White House this morning that doctors had decided, based on overnight monitoring, to perform a cardiac catheterization on Mr. Whittington.
The Vice President's chief of staff passed him a note at about 12:30pm ET to inform him that Mr. Whittington's doctors would brief in Texas about 1:00pm ET on complications in Mr. Whittington's condition. The Vice President was on Capitol Hill when he received this information.
When the Vice President returned to the White House, he was able to watch part of the press conference. At about 1:30pm ET, the Vice President called Mr. Whittington and spoke to him. The Vice President wished Mr. Whittington well and asked if there was anything he needed. The Vice President said that he stood ready to assist. Mr. Whittington's spirits were good, but obviously his situation deserves the careful monitoring that his doctors are providing.
The Vice President said that his thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Whittington and his family."
They're damned concerned about their phone call privacy, but they don't give a hoot about Mr. Whittington's privacy. They're absolute ghouls hunting for a "story" they can spin and spin and spin to the detriment of VP Cheney.
Oh, you can assert things as fact, you just can't back them up with anything but childish graphics. I see. No wonder your 'facts' are different than everyone else's.
It's not as though Mary Matalin still works for the Vice President or the White House in any capacity. She left the VP's office in 2002.
If she made a stupid statement defending her former boss, as a woman who probably doesn't know hunting from a hole in the wall, you really should cut her a little slack.
And you told another poster that you could find at least 10 MSM news articles that pointed the blame directly at Whittington; I'd like to see them because I've only seen one and it was written more tongue in cheek than as a serious journalistic endeavor.
Yer wasting your time on poster Lugsoul. He'll never get it.
If I were Bush/Cheney I'd have people calling them incessantly at all hours until the effects of sleep deprivation became visible.
"Yes Mr. Gregory, this is the press office. Mr. Cheney has just selected his brown slippers and is now stepping into the shower. Looks like Dial soap this morning."
The presstitutes are acting like the crazy women in the stoning scene of The Life of Brian. The Vice President doesn't owe them anything.
It is not everyday one can contradict ALL of the eyewitnesses, Howlin'. Congratulations.
As a typical you are lying thru your teeth.
Oh, I 'get it.' I 'get' that you and a mess of other folks here don't give a whit about what actually happened and only want to spin the best tale for whatever you perceive is 'your side.'
You wouldn't know a fact if it shot you in the face.
I get the feeling that lugsoul is so tedious they kick him out of DU and he hangs out here.
Making it up as you go along....you should be working for NBC. You sound right up their alley.
Point out what you claim is a lie, so I can cram the support for it down your throat.
As I understand it, cardiac catherization is a procedure which is solely designed to evaluate the heart. It is not surgery, but it is invasive. Very, in fact.
Nope. It is all out of the mouths of those who were there. If you want to claim they are making it up, fine. They were there.
I've been here longer than you. Long enough, in fact, to know the basic etiquette, which you apparently do not know or do not care to follow.
Sean Hannity introduced her three weeks ago as a 'counselor to Vice-President Dick Cheney.' Sean may have been lying, but Mary didn't correct him.
What are you talking about?
Good idea.
Another good idea is to raise Hell with local affiliates.
Best of all: refuse to watch the networks.
(Paraphrasing): The most hurtful action is not to hate someone, but to be indifferent to them.
