Cheney cleared in hunting accident
White House faces questions about disclosing incident
Tuesday, February 14, 2006; Posted: 1:19 p.m. EST (18:19 GMT)
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (CNN) -- Authorities have cleared Vice President Dick Cheney of wrongdoing in the Texas shooting of a hunting companion, while reporters aimed tough questions at White House officials about their delay in disclosing the accident.
During Tuesday's White House news conference, spokesman Scott McClellan was asked if waiting 14 hours after the shooting before Cheney spoke with police was appropriate, and whether an average citizen would have been afforded the same amount of time.
"That was what was arranged with the local law enforcement authorities," McClellan said. "You ought to ask them that question."
McClellan referred other questions about Cheney's shooting of campaign contributor Harry Whittington to the vice president's office and local police.

I like the way you think, but, maybe the Weekly Shopper would be fitting.
With all their huffing and puffing, the MSM has not learned from their partners, the Rats.Instead, they are out in the middle of the cow pasture, looking for pies to step in. AMAZEN
The dummies are ticking off the new media which is laugh at them and showing just how ridiculous they are plus, we get to relive Teddy and the way the "unbiased" media treated him. Too funny

Thanks for the ping. I'll be watching. I think the 2:00 release is just an excerpt from the full interview to be shown at 6:00 tonight; but reports vary on that.

Just heard this, Gretchen. GOOD news!
Also in the medical update on Mr. Whittington, they said that he was being kept in ICU for PRIVACY reasons, not medical, and was making a good recovery.

"I just read on another message board that the man who was shot had a heart attack. I'm trying to find out if it's true."
I heard that on the news. He suffered a mild heart attack because some of the pellets reached the outter portions of his heart. Dr.s performed surgery to remove it.
Sorry if others answered you here already. When I read your ? I answered it befor continuing to read the other posts.

And now a word from our REAL Sponsors of Free Speech
The Men and Women who serve,
and have served, our country
are the ones who make sure that
the Politicans and Judges are free to do their job.
We would not have a US Supreme Court
without the protection of the Military.
Politicans and Judges are safe
because of the Military who protect them.
TEST : Call your Senator or Congressman's office
AFTER 5 PM, or on the weekend.
IF you speak to an actual person, ask who's in charge today?
Now look up the phone number
of your local military base.
Call that number 24/7
and ask the live voice you get
to speak with the person in charge.
Send a Thank You while you enjoy your Freedom also.
You will stay right where you are on the thread.
Please take a moment and Thank a Service Man or Woman.

Patience is a virtue but I think I would have called that press conference to conclusion long before it was. Those reporters were acting like little children. I have never seen such ignorance and rudeness exhibited to the public. These reporters better grow up. No one needs to inform them of anything least of all the Vice President of the United States.Let them keep making fools of themselves. Believe me they aren't getting good "press" over their antics. It must be another Rove plan.
