I just heard from a local radio reporter (during Rush newsbreak at approximately 1:00 p.m) that Whittington "may have taken a turn for the worse," and was put back into intensive care.

BTW, thanks to the noise the media is making over this non-story Gore is getting away with his speech in Saudi Arabia, Iran is making the nuke, hearings are starting on Able Danger (a pre-Bush story) and tomorrow is the day we may finally find out the truth about where the WMD's all went...
I'd say the press knows this and they know full well what they are doing this week with this story that fell right into their laps.

Did Chris Matthews get it -- or did it float right over his head. I got sick of all the talk shows last night and finally watched Anderson Cooper, who was talking about something other than this shooting accident. As much as I cannot stand him, actually Chris was better than usual last night. He actually was relatively even-headed about the matter.
But then Ron Reagan was coming on the show, and I had to go get the barf bag!

There is no question that he has become unserious and radical since Bush was elected President, but that does not reflect his positions when he was VP. You should take the time to read the whacked out liberal book he wrote published well before ever running with Clinton as VP. Gore is as he was, it was just kept hidden during his VP years probably by those who had some common sense.

That feisty ER Chief got right back in the face of the mediots. "What about infection?" Doc: "So--WHAT ABOUT INFECTION? (thinking to himself--you idiot moron). If it happens, we'll deal with it appropriately, (you braindead piece of crap)".
Oh, how I wish I had seen that, Palladin. Wonder if its on the Internet anywhere...maybe Political Teen. Think I'll mosey over there and see.

He runs everything he touches into the ground. Look at West Wing, liberal but somewhat interesting until they made the changes that put O'Donnell in charge and he ran it into the ground. The last straw was the hiring of Janine Gerapalo (sp).

I wondered where RR was, didn't hear him commenting at Westminster.

Cheney being drunk has been floated or insinuated from the left today and yesterday on several radio stations (Jay Severin) and (John Dipitro) here in Boston alone. Cheney drinking anything in combination with his heart medication is a stretch.
Highly unlikely.

Did you read that Paramount has agreed to distribute Al Gore's new movie???
To: BigSkyFreeper
Sheesh, from the way the press was reacting you'd think that Cheney left his "friend" to die while he took the ferry home and called his politcal operatives to clean up the mess the next day.

This is getting bad.
If the guy dies or goes into a long-term coma, it may be a political Chernobyl for the administration.
Quite unfairly, but voters are not really fair, particularly when the Democratic media go to work on them, as we can be absolutely certain they would.

That thought crossed my mind, too; plus he is too serious to drink before going out hunting and in Texas he would have more than likely had a glass of tea.

"Would it be steel or lead shot?
If it is lead shot, whould it also (GASP!) have ARSENIC &/or BISMUTH as a hardening additive?"
Just a thought, but generally lead shot is just that, plain lead. Gives it more throw at the little birdies. Bismuth is a shot alternative where lead is not allowed.

I wish Scottie would have said that to Gregory. Maybe some swift-on-their-feet Freepers should send Scott a list of comebacks.

Yes, there's hope. He has been drifting that way since we've gotten married. He's a college professor and he's more and more getting the feedback from his associates at lunch that he's being brainwashed by his conservative wife. LOL. Good.

Cheney is not to blame in any moral sense, but he handled this with poor political judgment. The "bunker mentality" can be very dangerous. I love the guy, but he needs to think about how people "think" in today's culture.

Didn't a lot of cowboys die of lead poisoning back in the 'old days.'
