I read an article that the SS notified the police within the hour.
Jahwol, herr Rove.
The sheriff said the Secret Service called him within ten minutes of the incident.
I read the sheriff was notified at 5 something Saturday afternoon.
Local "journalists" who cover the copshop are apparently as lazy as the WH press corps. It was on record - south Texas reporters should have picked this up Saturday night at the latest, that they didn't is somehow Bush's/Cheney's/WalMart's fault.
The lady who owns the ranch said that in the first few hours, they were only thinking of how Mr. Whittington was doing. It didn't even occur to them to 'notify the press'. Cheney's office thought it only right to let HER announce it to the press because it took place on her property.
On another thread it was stated that the local Sheriff was notified within 10 minutes, and it also stated that the local Sheriff had confirmed that. Not sure of the source, has anyone else seen that reported?
Note that the SS is the top, number one cop in the nation. It's not like there were no competent witnesses!
