MIAMI - A coalition of Florida farmworkers has sued the Federal Emergency Management Agency, challenging the government's refusal to help undocumented farmworkers affected by hurricanes with housing and other assistance, because of their immigration status.
In the lawsuit, the Coalition of Florida Farmworker Organizations and the Farmworker Association of Florida said that federal law exempts short-term non-cash emergency disaster relief from restrictions based on immigration status.
Emergency aid from the government would have mitigated the disastrous effect of the storms, including Hurricane Wilma, on farmworker communities, according to the lawsuit, which asked the court to review FEMA's actions in withholding or delaying relief to undocumented farmworkers.

Criminals and invaders want to be put on dole.
Yeah I am glad to pay for the illegals..NOT!
What next, are terrorist cells going to sue the US Government for not giving C-4 and detonators to them?
That's as idiotic as granting workman's comp to a hood getting injured while knocking over a liquor store.
Well the terrorists in gitmo are suing the govt...
How about, the United States, on behalf of American citizens, sue the farm workers. And sue foreign governments for room, board and other social helps provided for the last -- well, twenty years should cover the recent expenses and we can forego the fifty years before that for the time being -- to all non citizens in the U.S.
I do think the U.S. taxpayers are owed considerable sums from several particular nations for starters, for all the U.S. resources their citizens have used and continue to.
I'm for giving illegal aliens Aid.
But only if a bus ticket back to their homeland can be considered aid!
That is absolutely correct.
However, these guys don't have an immigration status, because in order to HAVE an immigration status, you must here on an immigrant visa.
This case won't go anywhere if we can keep it out of the hands of the Florida Supreme Court
In which case they win.
If there's any decency, a judge will throw this out with the dregs from his morning coffee.
How about the United States keep the farm workers and give them the portion given to Katrina "evacuees." Take those sniveling, money grubbing, non working layabout "evacuees" and give them to Mexico.
LOL
