Politics marred Coretta King funeral
Quad City Times ^ | February 13, 2006 | Annette J. Wood

President Bush spoke very highly of Coretta Scott King at her memorial service. Mrs. King, Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks were three very strong hopes for the black community. Unfortunately, not everyone chose to eulogize her.

Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and former President Carter chose this opportunity for political gain and Bush bashing. Mr. Carter compared the Kennedy administration’s wiretapping of Mr. King to the “terrorist surveillance program” of the current administration. There were slams toward racism from Hurricane Katrina when the majority of responders were African American themselves.

The Democratic Party and the black leaders that have associated themselves with them are stuck in the pre-1960s era. If it weren’t for the Republican Party of the ‘60s the Civil Rights of today would not have passed. Many of the Democrats of that time voted against it. Even Barack Obama, when it appears he will say something to lead, seems to be drawn back “in line” by his party.

The Republican Party has role models in Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell and J.C. Watts who have shown young and old what they can accomplish now and for the future. It is sad that the Democratic Party leadership tries to persuade Americans that the Republican Party is close-minded and racist when in fact it is the opposite position. It will be interesting to see now that their greatest leaders are gone who the black community will turn to for their future.

Another funerally. Since this was copy of the Wellstone Funerally, does that count as plagerism?

It's not just "politics" that marred it, as though it happened, and no one is to blame. Notice that it was the Democrats who brought politics into it.

And don't forget, Dead Head Carter thought he would smash the Bushes, when all he did was bash the Kennedys....it was Robert Kennedy that listened to Martin Luther King....not the Bushes......

Looks like the Democrats would of learned from the Paul Wellstone Memorial....that Politics at a Funeral do not mix.

From the New York Times on Hillary's performance

WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 — Like her husband, Hillary Rodham Clinton can work a room, remembering names and personal details, and dazzling acquaintances along the way. And like Bill Clinton, she can master arcane details of public policy, wowing experts in several fields. But as a public speaker, Hillary Rodham Clinton is no Bill Clinton, and that became all too apparent at Coretta Scott King's funeral...

This was supposed to be a funeral but the chicanery made it look more like a convention for "Pimps". It was a total disgrace to the memory of Mrs. King.
The Democrat Party has become a Cancer eating away at the very fiber of America.
In my lifetime I have never seen as much hatred by a political party as the Democrats now display. They have done nothing but sabotage America and have created a climate of hatred and distrust never seen before in this country.
On top of this they have no answers or agenda other than to destroy America and create a Socialist country and install a dictator. This also will happen if we do not put a stop to their judicial activism. Lets not forget they are the ones buying and selling the judgeship's. Remember "Mirandagate". You never hear anything out of the MSM about this it has been swept under the rug.
The only faction of American life the Democrats don't control is the Internet and Congress and the President but that do a good job of controlling them by judicial activism until they can get their people installed. Awaken America before it is too late.

Imo, the Wellstone funeral was much worse. I do think however that Mrs. King deserved a dignified funeral, not a political rally bashing the president.

Oh, I think America has awaken. That's why the Democrat's plots keep getting foiled time and time again. My prayer is that we have awaken in time.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I have two thoughts on this subject. The first is that I am sick unto death of all things MLK and his greedy family.
The "brave widow" was the basis for the character of Sen. David Palmer's scheming wife, Sherry, on the TV series, 24.
Having said that, I am genuinely sad that this woman died in some cheesy Mexican clinic, which is always a sign of fear and desperation,IMHO.

Secondly, I don't think that the shameful and painful display was about politics, so much as it was about plain old-fashioned good manners. From the Democrats, especially our national monument to idiocy, Jimmy Carter, and the money grubbing Rev. Lowery, we saw nothing but cheap sucker punches during what was supposed to be a somber funeral service. It was finally up to ole' Bubba to put a stop to the train back on the tracks. His eulogy was nothing more than damage control, and was largely undone by the calculated comments of The Carpetbagger.

I think of Mrs. King's funeral as a character contest...and it is so very easy to see who the winners were, President Bush 41 and President Bush 43.

These Civil Rights race baiter's such as Joseph Lowery, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the many others that claim they played a huge part in the racial strife of and during he sixties deserve nothing. Why Should President Bush even attend such a funeral where these people show their hate and disregard for the American Government leadership. Why should this group of race baiting hate mongrels receive anything from a Government whom they so despise. I strongly believe that Bush gave these people what they deserved during the Distress after Hurricane Katrina. It was the democratic party that went out of its way to make the situation so much worse than it ever had to be just so they could throw it back on the Republican Party, what a bunch of Scumbags.

i survived Hurricane David's aftermath for a week without electricity or water or any Government help. So why is it such a racial thing when whites are ignored or for that matter blacks. The people in the path of a hurricane should be well enough prepared so that they can survive at least a few days without the U.S. Government their to cater to their immediate unprepared needs. I had to go a whole a week without Government aid, which never did come, yet was able to survive because I was prepared.

Of course we all well know how the race baiting American haters portrayed themselves as worthless and ruthless criminals that have no self control without a police force available to crack heads if things get out of hand. Of course the minority police members were also caught on film making choices on what they wanted to steal that had absolutely nothing to do with items of survival.

President Bush wasted his complete time trying to honor a so called group of Civil Righters at the funeral of Coretta Scott King, whose only response was hate and discontent. These people deserve only what they provide to American Society, nothing.

But, the Dems are too stupid to know that. You are dealing with brain-dead idiots here.

Actually the family got exactly what they had to know was coming. They're not new to this game. The kids have been in it all their lives and don't know anything else. They wanted a circus and they got one. Did they expect the parade of scumbags they scheduled to speak to just say nice things about their parents and sit down? If you try to pet a snake and the snake bites you, whose fault is it anyway?

At least they did not have that jackass riding Al Sharpton speak, or the unholy Rev. Jackson.

Jimmmy Carter is a man who is not at peace with himself. He knows his presidency failed and he's grasping for straws. Expect another 30 years of the same from Clinton.

At Jimmy Carter's age, he should not be concerned with this world, but the next. He should ask for forgiveness for what he did at Coretta Scott's funeral and for misleading the Congregation, into thinking that Democrats were some how about the wiretaping of the Martin Luther King family, and in fact were directly responsible for it. Jimmy Carter, lied by trying to misrepresent facts. Jimmy Carter not only lust in his heart, he is a passive liar.

Remind me to read my own statements before posting. That should of read:

At Jimmy Carter's age, he should not be concerned with this world, but the next. He should ask for forgiveness for what he did at Coretta Scott's funeral and for misleading the Congregation, into thinking that Republicans were some how involved in the wiretaping of the Martin Luther King family, and in fact Democrats were directly responsible for it. Jimmy Carter should pray for forgiveness for misusing a sacred moment, the funeral of Coretta Scott King for his own warped political advantage. Jimmy Carter, lied by trying to misrepresent facts. Jimmy Carter not only lust in his heart, he is a passive liar. Of course that is, if Jimmy Carter is not faking being a Christian.
