Dear (NEA Chairman) Dana Gioia:
I write to you today, not with a request, but with a demand. Ive been sitting back patiently while the NEA has been promoting anti-Christian art for a number of years. In fact, one could say that I have been supporting it, too, given that my tax dollars have been spent on this garbage. And maybe Ive been supporting it in another way by refusing to write you to express my frustration. That is, until now.
In the spirit of the separation of church and state, my demand is that you commission a painting fully funded with tax dollars that has one intention and one intention only: To offend Muslims everywhere

well, now that you mention it, i do despise some peta people. mind you, not all of them, only some. regardless, you are boring me now, since you cannot post anything remotely connected to what was being discussed. have a great day.

That is funny stuff right there.

Teaching evolution is illegal in Saudi Arabia.
From Why Does the Muslim World Lag in Science?
Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species, published in 1859, was translated in Arabic journals by 1876, though not in book form until 1918. Throughout this period, Muslim intellectuals presented minimal resistance to the diffusion of Western scientific ideas. For example, the major opposition to Darwinian ideas of evolution came not from Muslim scholars but from Eastern-rite Christians.
[snip]
In most Muslim countries, including Iran, a tacit agreement therefore exists between scientists and theologians not to debate issues that could harm both sides. That Islamic leaders seldom rail against the tenets of science means that scientific doctrines and concepts are mostly free from religious challenge. The teachings of Darwin on evolution, for example, are allowed everywhere but Saudi Arabia.
Go for it, guy/gal! Seems to have as much artistic merit as either of the other two "projects" mentioned. Actually, it sounds quite "interesting" and "effective" aren't those words currently "en vogue" in the art world?
ok, now im really lauging out loud. i had no idea that my opinions were that important to you. seriously, take a deep breath and calm down. and leave peta out of it, unless you bring in the tree people for corroborating testimony.
All I can say is I blame your cali edjumication.
uh, not born or educated in california, sorry. now, lets discuss something logical and related to the issue we are discussing. since you are so vociferously defending darwinism, im going to think you are a darwinist. now, can you please tell me why and based on what line of thought was it wrong for nazis to kill jews?
Guess I will have to chime in here.
Equating atheist with the islamonazi's ruins what would otherwise have been an excellent article.
The islamonazi's are determined that theirs is the only acceptable religious belief! They have no qualms at forcing that religion on everyone else, by any and all possible means. A trait you seem to share.
Your overbearing vitriolic insistence that "Christianity" is the only true religion, and the most important philosophy responsible for American progress, puts YOU much closer to the islamonazi's than any atheist!
Genuine atheist have no reason to care who or what faith you believe in, until you try to impose your faith on them, so very much like the islamonazi's!
You insist on imposing your zealous faith in place of actual, verifiable, facts.
FYI, it is our unique constitution and bill of rights, the "Great Experiment", that made America what it is today, not any one brand of religion or it's absence.
A pox on ALL zealots!
Professing love and concern for the survival of mankind, these movements keep screaming that nuclear weapons have made war too horrible to contemplate, that armed force and violence should be abolished as a means of settling disputes among nations, and that war should be outlawed in the name of humanity. Yet these same peace movements do not oppose dictatorships, the political views of their members range through all shades of the statist spectrum, from "welfare statism" to socialism to communism. This means that these peace movements are opposed to the use of coercion by one nation against another, but not by the government of a nation against its own citizens, it means that they are opposed to the use of force and violence against armed adversaries but not against the disarmed.

wow, excellent article!!!
you read things in my post that i never said, but so be it. lets get to facts then. america is based on judeo christianity, that is a fact. americans purport to be very relgious people, that is a fact. islam is a relgion, that is a fact. these two are clashing and no matter what is said otherwise, that is a fact. as our cic said, you are either with us or against us, that is another fact. i never said everyone has to believe as i do, that is a fact. darwinists and athiests by OMISSION are helping islam against the basic building blocks of the usa, imo, that is a fact. get it? oh, and the founding fathers rightly seperated church and state, another fact. athiests want to ban relgion, another fact. here is the last fact for the readers out there. i am not saying any group i mentioned is monolithic, there are individuals who think differently. is that clear?
The Muslims do like young boys.
Sickos.
The Nazi Jew killing was anti Darwinian. They would have won if they had the bomb and they not lost them to us, the melting pot. We don't play the race religion or social status game that had developed to the same degree.
To say that is the way it has worked from the time of a nit on a gnats ass is not an excuse for us. We know better. Markets have allowed us to "evolve" with wealth being one of the the new survival of the fittest measures.
Um, that is kind of the point here. You are apparently so focused on fruit analogies that it flew right over your head.
what seems to be hanging from the fruit trees right in frong of everyone, yet is always being denied is that different cultures look at things differently.
A little defensive are we? You missed the point entirely. Darwinists mock Christianity. Muslims get offended when Islam is mocked. Mock Islam, pin it on the Darwinists, and fun for all ensues! As a proponent of mocking religion, you should have no problem with the plan. Of course, as the piece implies, you will quickly side with Christians once the Muslims turn on you. You might even think twice about mocking those Christians once they become your brothers in arms.
The big point here: Not all religions are equal.
What is a frong? Some sort of thong they put on you when you are mentally limited?
whether you wish to deny it or not, religion has been the major influence on all national models. come on, surely you know this? name me one civilization that did not have religion? just one?
