WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 — Mexican criminal syndicates are stepping up their attacks on American agents patrolling the border as officials of the Homeland Security Department intensify efforts to stem the flow of immigrants and drugs into the United States, American officials said this week.

In recent months, scores of Border Patrol agents have been fired upon or pelted with large stones as well as with cloth-covered stones that have been doused with flammable liquid and set ablaze. Since October, agents have been attacked in more than 190 cases, officials said on Thursday.

Most of the attacks have occurred along the Mexican border near San Diego, but shootings have also been reported along the border in Texas near the cities of Laredo and McAllen. In the fiscal year that ended on Sept. 30, there were 778 attacks on agents, up from 374 in the previous fiscal year, Homeland Security Department officials said.

Let's see. We have almost 40,000 US troops securing the border between north and south Korea. We have zero US troops securing the border between the US and Mexico where enemy combatants enter our country illegally by the thousands basically to kill americans. Even when apprehended, they are released on their own recognizance I guess because we don't have enough beds and HDTV's to accomodate them. I think we have a serious mismanagement problem here.

I think we have a serious mismanagement problem here.

If there is ever a terrorist attack due to our border insecurity, it will be considered one of the greatest blunders of all time. Noone can say that we were not warned, repeatedly.

How ironic DHS statistic are used as a reference here? I thought Chertoff said; Reports of violence on the border were OVERBLOWN! Wake Up America and don't expect your government to protect you or come to the rescue.

Bush will act to defuse any possible annoyance to Fox and simply make sure nothing is done that would upset his amigo.

...have been fired upon or pelted with large stones as well as with cloth-covered stones that have been doused with flammable liquid and set ablaze.

If these a-holes are close enough to throw stones and blazing rocks...why aren't they shot dead on the spot?.....nevermind....we deserted South Vietnam, now we're deserting our own country.

If the LEOs used their sidearms to defend themselves it might "send the wrong message to Mexico", donchaknow. We can't have that.

That's why the hell with gun laws. Mine are cleaned, oiled and ammo refreshed periodically. And let the first liberal try to take mine away.

We are the land of the free. We are Americans governed by a Constitution. You would have a hard time believing this the way our Government has screwed the law up.

We protected West Germans from invasion from East Germany.

We protect South Korean from invasion from North Korea.

We protect Taiwain from invasion from the PRC.

We protect Israel from invasion from...all its neighbors.

We protect Iraqi borders from infiltration from all its borders.

WE LEAVE OUR OWN BORDER UNPROTECTED.

FRIGGIN' NUTS!
