Today on Fox News Channel, GOP Rep. Heather Wilson raised the previous wiretap on Martin Luther King during her discussion and answering questions about the President's Terrorist Surveillance Program. She seemed to use this as a reason that we needed more oversight of the president's program. She said something to the effect "...you know, a friend of mine sent me an email about Martin Luther King being wire tapped....".

She is grandstanding... her district is leaning Democrat.
Wilson is a useful idiot for the left. She should be defeated.
What does on ehave to do with the other..What an idiot this women is.
If she's grandstanding for re-election, it will backfire. The NSA terrorist surveillence program is supported by voters. Every politician trying to exploit this is only damaging themselves and our country.
we all know that chain e-mails are always completely accurate..
*sarcasm*
Heather, Heather, Heather. THAT WAS THE KENNEDY BOYS!!!!! Your pal Teddy's brothers!!
From the same group of conspiracy theorists who complain of a click on their phone line. I seriously doubt the NSA had anything to do with "Domestic wiretapping" of MLK. NSA does electronic interception of trunk lines, microwaves, sat channels, and other "stuff". They guy sitting in the white van listening to a "wiretap" is not in any way associated with the NSA - they don't have such job positions. One can only venture a guess as to whom Bobby Kennedy utilized to "wiretap" MLK, but I would stake money on it NOT being the NSA.
No guess here. It was the FBI.
Given her congressional district, I believe that Wilson has do so something like this. If I were her, I would raise this issue so I could be proven wrong and the disctinctions aired for all to hear.
If she were to go defending Bush at the onset, many of the voters of Albuquerque may not like it; similar problems occur when talking about immigration reform. Wilson has to appear as a moderate republican. Sorry to play the Machiavellian card, but one has to think in tactical terms here.
The idea that the NSA has either the time or the energy to go after the political opponents of the Administration while trying to hold the line against Al Qaida is cute, in a paranoid narcissistic kind of way. It's not rational, though.
She looks like Alito's wife's sister.......
The New Mexico Republican faces what is likely to be her toughest race yet against Patricia Madrid, New Mexico's Democratic Attorney General." Dem NM Attorney General is running against her.
She sounds a little Dim.
It's not really a mystery, it was FBI agents. Hoover asked Bobby for authorization, and he got it, on numerous occasions.
One of the poorest states in the nation. We have no industry per se and now they're going to raise the minimum wage to 7.50.
J. Edgar was concered about the people supporting MLK Jr. Several were known communists. J. Edgar was investigating whether or not MLK was a useful idiot of CP USA and wooried that his movement had been co-opted by CP USA. Let us not forget that MLK Jr's idol was Gahndi who was a socialist. JFK was a staunch anti-communist so he would have been receptive to J. Edgar's concerns.
As a side note, everyone conveniently forgets that Justice Thurgood Marshall was opposed to MLK Jr's methods. Justice Marshall thought that the law and the courts should be used to ensure equal rights.
