I must agree with Brilliant, sadly.

If the U.S. launched another pre-emptive attack against anyone, even Iran, it would create such a political upheaval, a maelstrom, in this country [the left and a good chunk of the middle would be in the streets] that the Republicans would run and hide while Bush was impeached and convicted.

It's terribly disturbing because if anyplace ever deserved a pre-emptive decapitation, it's Iran. But this country is just too passive -- it pretty much insists on being attacked first -- and having the attack admitted to and bragged about before we will tolerate defending ourselves. Any kind of American attack will only follow the detonation of a nuke by Iran. Pray it's a test, not an attack on Jerusalem.

It's going to end up the same way it was with the Soviet Union. We'll let them have the bomb, and if they use it, we'll blow them to smithereens. That is, unless Hillary is President, in which case she'll do nothing, except blame Bush.
