TORY chairman Francis Maude yesterday accused Margaret Thatcher's governments of hounding his gay brother into his grave.
He blamed homophobic Tory policies for driving gay men into ghettos.
Charles Maude died, aged 42, from an Aids-related illness in 1993.
Francis said: "If the government had been more willing to recognise gays...a lot of people like my brother would not have succumbed to HIV and lost their lives."
Very witty :)

"Santa, go straight to the Ghayto
I well remember that the homosexual activists and leftists in America blamed Ronald Reagan for the AIDS crisis. It was all his fault. Why, was not entirely clear. But they were absolutely certain that it was his fault.
It sounds to me as if the Tories have picked yet another loser as their chairman. The man is a divisive idiot to make a statement like this.
The logic of this is really hard to follow.
Did Margaret Thatcher force him at gunpoint to engage in promiscuous homosexual behavior?
What a relief! I thought AIDS in Britain was George Bush's fault. Turns out that Margaret Thatcher is to blame.
Never fear, Maudee's here!
"accused Margaret Thatcher's governments of hounding his gay brother into his grave."
Something that's not Bush's fault, It's Thatcher's fault.
And....what does government recognition have to do with not catching AIDS? Don't do the deed that puts you at risk.
Keep in mind that this is exactly the same as if Ken Mehlman blamed Reagan for AIDS here. What the hell goes on over there?
Heh heh. Ya beat me by 23 seconds!
It seems that being out of power causes political types to lose their minds.
Why is he blaming Margaret? Did she help his brother aim his "gay lover's" direction? This guy is stark raving stupid.
I don't suppose engaging in sodomy had ANYTHING to do with the brother contracting HIV?
Naaaah, of course not.
So now it is Thatchers fault.
AIDS is a disease of choice, the overwelming number of those who get it have made choices about their life style that has got them to where they are.
That's what I thought - with drugs, alcohol, domestic violence, suicide thrown into the mix with the rampant STDs, it ain't a "life"style so much as a deathstyle.
Francis said: "If the government had been more willing to recognise gays...a lot of people like my brother would not have succumbed to HIV and lost their lives."
GROSS Cause and Effect fallacy...!
***Francis said: "If the government had been more willing to recognise gays...a lot of people like my brother would not have succumbed to HIV and lost their lives."***
Francis is right, If the Government had recognised gays and HIV and placed them in isolation, locked them up somewhere they couldnt spread the disease her brother may not have caught it.
They isolated plague and Tuberculosis and Aids should have been isolated too.
It might not have stopped it but it sure would have slowed it down.
