Same here. The CBC transmitter relay tower is about 30 miles NW of here. So I'm watching CBC on a 13 color TV with it's rabbit ears here in the computer room. Their coverage has been nonstop since 10:30am yesterday morning. Can't get the French language station, but English will do. LOL
I get the French on 54, if it helps.
Yep...she's probably right. From there, it comes north to us. Oh dear...14 inches for Baltimore? Well, I just checked our updated forecast for NJ....8-13" now. I bought my food supplies yesterday and finished the errands today, expecting to be shut in for a few days. I just looked outside....hugh beautiful snowflakes falling. It's lovely.
"It has started to snow lightly where I am on South Shore Long Island."
It won't be long till the big ones fall there. They say it's the wet, heavy snow....perfect for snowballs and a snowman. When we moved here to NJ from Key West many years ago, our family built a snowman standing on his head, his arms supporting him. It was cute. The neighbor from across the street came over and jokingly said, "I think you guys were in Florida too long. Your snowman is rather unusual."
Clouds are rainy dark, the wind is blowing lightly and the dog's water has already frozen! I am so excited and waiting for the clouds to dump!
I have a hard time watching Women's Hockey.
you have a hard time watching hockey...period...come on, say it
:D
btw, our Canadians gals sure gave a clinic didn't they?
Awesome to see the looks on the faces of the players on both teams after the game, ...smiles all around.
Canada GOLD in women's moguls!....GO CRAZY CANUCKS!
mark
When is Kwan going to drop out already. I bet if Emily Hughes gets in she will shock the world and come home with gold...just like big sis Sarah.
I'm in Montana. :) The French language station is supposedly on channel 12, but the tower is too far north even for an outdoor antenna.

I did it!
ON MY OWN!
Oh my!
Sorry. Big Sky, I get it now!
No problem! I'm about 2 hours south of the provincial capitol of Regina, Saskatchewan. Which is where CBC Saskatchewan (Channel 9 in Regina) is located. They have a relay transmitter (Channel 10) closer to the US/Canadian border for some of the smaller Canadian border towns
Years after that skiing crash I saw that guy who crashed interviewed. He said he was fine, although it looked pretty bad. What bugged him was that it was used for so many years...and he became the face of the agony of defeat. Not something a competitive athlete want's associated with them. He was laughing...a bit...but said he'd done that event so many times with no problem...he has one fall and he's part of history.
That's funny, I'm linking to it from NBC's current Olympics web page where I saw it a couple of days ago. Apparently great crashes live on...
Well, if this is a spoiler thread, let me post this. The Russians (Totmianina and Marinin) just pulled way ahead in the pairs figure skating. The leaders, Zhang/Zhang from China, in their final attempt just had a horrendous fall. It looks like they may not be able to finish, leaving Russia in first place, and China in 2nd and 3rd.
