Last December the Associated Press also reported that Murtha, who is the top Democrat on the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, predicted President Bush would "make it look like we're 'staying the course'" but that troops would be "withdrawn within a year anyway."
The president had always said that the policy was to train Iraqi troops to protect their own country and to withdraw our troops battalion by battalion as their troops were brought up to an warfighting standard.
Murtha is a poseur.

God bless this wonderful man.
Now, let's not hold our collective breath waiting to see him on the Today Show, or GMA, or Larry King (barely) Live, or Hardball.

Personally, I think that Murtha deserves a shot in the mouth from a REAL MARINE.
Just a thought......

It's good to hear the thoughts of a real combat soldier, instead of the staff pukes, jags, reservists, and outright frauds (need I mention kerry?).

Blessings to Congressman Johnson and his family.

"Johnson was referring to Murtha, a decorated Vietnam War veteran" Was Sam Johnson a decorated Vietnam War Veteran or just Johnson?
To: yoe
Just as he, Rep. Hunter and others were ignored by the MSM when they gave cogent, measured speeches on the floor of the House of Representatives in response to Rep. Murtha's Treasonous comments, Rep. Johnson will be ingored again.
His remarks do not advance the LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist plan for America, dontchaknow?

Sam Johnson's speech on the floor of the house, the night of the vote on the Iraq Withdrawl Resolution, was one of the most moving moments in my political memory. He is a great man.
Why doesn't John McCain make such speeches? ..there's a softball for you...

Murtha is Iraq veterans' own 'Hanoi Kerry'. We should give him a name like 'Mujahadeen Murtha' or something. Both Murtha and Kerry grandstand for the cameras convicting Marines who were risking it all, WITHOUT ANY FIRSTHAND knowledge.
In the Knight Ridder article in my local paper this morning, Murtha even said "I haven't read the report." What kinda bullcrap is that for a Marine officer??? Muck Furtha!
