(CBS) Former President George H.W. Bush has expressed dismay and anger at attacks on his son, President Bush, at the funeral for Coretta Scott King.
"In terms of the political shots at the president who was sitting there with his wife, I didn't like it and I thought it was kind of ugly frankly," the former president said in an exclusive radio interview with CBS News White House correspondent Peter Mae
"Anybody that shoots at the president of the United States at a funeral, I just didn't appreciate that," Mr. Bush added.

The party that's all about class doesn't actually have any.
You'd have to ask the Japanese who were on those Islands that he bombed. If any of them are still alive, many did not survive the war.
I detect a "hint" of dismay and NO anger at all. Then the "hint" of dismay is completely undone by the big atta boy pat on the back of the toon.
The headline, as usual, is misleading.
I do not absolve the attendees for their mindless cheering at the hate mongering from the pulpit.
Tingle, tingle. They would burn baby burn.
Nancy Reagan adores her husband; I adore mine.
She fights drugs; I fight illiteracy.
She's a size 4; so is my leg.

To their everlasting credit the people of this great nation were wise enough to gather themselves up and throw this jerk out of office after four miserable years. Ever since, Jimmy Carter has been trying to crawl out of that historical hole by tearing down the work of real Presidents of the United States of which we have had two since he left office. He has failed. Just like his administration failed. No rewriting of history will change this.
Here's what Bush 1 actually said ""I thought President Clinton was maybe the best. It was his crowd. They talk about Bill Clinton being 'the first black president,' well when you walk into that church with 12,000 or whatever it was, I mean it was very clear who that crowd loved and respected." The interpretation of this as "praise" was that of the author/reporter. "Maybe the best" of that bunch need not be construed as good, or even neutral. At most I'd call it an honest observation, not praise.
Yeah, you're right, although it was a tremendous slap in the face to Mrs. King as well. That's the real shame here, that her funeral, instead of being one whereby her and her husband's efforts which have grown some serious roots, got the attention, the libs used it as a spot for yet another attempt at an ambush.
Anyone watching, or listening to that crap, could only have walked away with the conclusion that nothing is sacred amongst libs in their bloodthirsty quest for power.
I really wish Condi, Thomas, or someone else had been there as "living proof" as to her life.
That was the reporter's take on the statement. President Bush I only said that Billy Jeff was the Best of that bunch, and that he had the best connection to the crowd. A crowd full of people who would clap at a funeral.
Anyway, the more Carter speaks, the more he removes the doubt and proves to all what a fool he is.
I think the next natural progression of this trend is to use the funeral to advertise products. They could put bumper stickers on the side of the casket, have sponsors for the funeral (i.e., The DNC Funeral for Corretta Scott King), have the speakers hold products, etc.
That's what I can't understand and personally I am getting very tired of the praise heaped upon the former, disgraced impeached president clintin. That crowd didn't love OR respect clintin...they just liked him cause he always told them what he wanted to hear. I tell ya if it were my son who was President of the United States that these two stupid former presidents wwere attacking all the time I'd be on their cases which would be MY RIGHT as a former President.
In Europe with the Olympic team and visiting the pope earlier this week. Miss Laura is just fine.
I see. Can't answer for "Bar." Perhaps she suspected some of the speakers would, indeed, attack her son, and she didn't trust herself to remain silent at the funeral?
Name names.
Slam Carter, Mr. President...take him to task.
Reagan would!!!!!!!!
Being in God's house meant nothing to those sort of people. The sad little peanut man and the communist loving preacher were just two of the worst offenders in that crowd.
