The Governor's School of North Carolina describes itself as "program for intellectually gifted high school students, integrating academic disciplines, the arts, and unique courses." But one North Carolina couple is suffering some after effects of their son's involvement in the program. Jim and Beverly Burrows say after their son attended a Governor's School seminar called "The New Gay Teenager," he began telling them he was unsure of his "sexual orientation."
The parents believe the seminar was intentionally scheduled as the last optional one before classes ended in order to leave a strong, lasting impression on the students and bypass any parental notification about the seminar.
Jim Burrows says he noticed a big difference in his otherwise normal son upon his return from the school.
"He [said he] was thinking now that he perhaps was gay -- and of course I was floored by this [pronouncement] and was, like, 'where did this come from?' This kind of came out of left field," the dad says. After questioning his son for an extended period, Burrows says he discovered the source. "I found out that this was as a result of this seminar."
According to Burrows, his son was instructed by two openly homosexual staff members of the Governor's School to question his sexuality as well as Bible passages that condemn homosexuality. And the students were also encouraged by instructors to start a Gay Straight Alliance club at their schools, he says.
The North Carolina dad explains that his son's subsequent struggle with homosexuality has turned his family upside down. "As far as our family is concerned, the damage has already been done," he laments. "There's no way that we can go back and undo what has been done."
Still, Mr. Burrows feels he needs to warn other parents of the homosexual indoctrination his son encountered at the Governor's School. "[I]f I can keep one other family from having to go through this, then all this trouble has been worthwhile," he says.
The seminar wasn't scheduled before the resident "school" began, wasn't revealed to parents until afterward, wasn't clearly identified as optional, and had no competing options.
Circumstancial evidence, but compelling.

You make a good point. I think adolescents are particularly vulnerable, especially younger adolescents.
At that age, your kids trust you a lot and if you say "there is a lot they are not telling you and I will tell you when you are a little older" coupled with "we don't mess in our poop because it makes us sick" it's enough for grade schoolers. : )
The problem is the growing influence of NAMBLA, the North American Man Boy Love Association. One of their objectives is the repeal of age of consent laws.

If you think about that, there will be a general preponderence of nerdy types, artsy types, etc.
Not the swaggering young football player who has no doubts, but a target rich environment of frequently sexually insecure youngsters just perfect for sexual predators, especially homosexual predators. They have been bombarded with this "diversity" and "hatecrime" crap from early on.
These b@stards knew exactly what they were doing. They had screened the applicants. Remember, they recruit, not reproduce.
My thoughts exactly. What an easy scapegoat for the parents. Idiots.
I think unic is the singular form of UNIX, though I could be mistaken. Linux does seem to be growing in popularity in schools and colleges nationwide - probably part of the homosexual agenda's recruitment effort.
I think entertainment is worse than the schools.
...I am stunned at the number of people in this thread siding with the aggressive (predatory) outreach of the faggot "community."
I don't think people agree with this outreach but I just think the kid was a bit messed up before this class. I called the parents idiots because I cannot believe for one second that they did not know the kid was taking the class. When I was in school, the school sent home a list of all the classes that I was taking so I know parents are not involved, but come on this is a bit of a stretch. I absolutely do not believe that the school should even have this seminar.
It is certainly just as bad. I think the problem boils down to promotion of an anything goes when it comes to sexual behavior. Straight or gay.
Very sad. Very disturbing.
A young man in my dormitory at college had that problem, 40 years ago. His sister had Barbie good looks and was very hot, in an icy-hot kind of way. Unfortunately, heredity visited her facial features on him, and he was forever being followed around by homosexuals who were several years older. One of them began following him in a GTO, using the Goat as a troll-toy just as a fraternity boy would, trolling for lays among the sorority houses. Supported by the Neanderthal values of a simpler age, Bill tried to make the problem go away by putting a brick through the windshield of the GTO as it followed him one night (he was coming back to campus from one of the off-campus student beer-dives). Unnerved when the GTO driver kept coming even then, he recruited help from some dorm neighbors he ran into, and they made the persistent Goat driver back off under a shower of missiles.
Poor, beleaguered homosexuals, my a$$. These guys were predators.
This program was for "gifted" and academically superior students. Many of them may be "geeks". Many of them may be small for their age, and sensitive. THAT DOES NOT MEAN A CHILD IS HOMOSEXUAL!!! It often does, however, make them feel like a square peg, an outsider, and the homos are attracted to them like flies on sh!+ with their recruiting and propaganda.
That is a bad sign of FR addiction. Do you ever find yourself reading something in a different venue, and you start composing your comment or reply in your head as you're reading, and you suddenly realize you're not on FR and you can't do it?
I just think that it is very sad also. I mean if only we could find a way to REALLY fix this problem and have everyone hetro would make life so much better for all involved.
But that isn't the point, is it?
The point is, the class was designed to mess him up further -- and to make sure he got messed up, and stayed that way. The point is the bad intentions of the people who designed, introduced, and instructed the class.
I called the parents idiots because I cannot believe for one second that they did not know the kid was taking the class.
There was a big flap in Ohio about seven years ago when it turned out that inappropriate material was being taught in Ohio public schools. SIECUS and the Centers for Disease Control at Emory University (in Atlanta) had collaborated with homosexual advocacy groups to put together a sex-education course that, among other things, addressed AIDS propagation (SIECUS and CDC's brief) but also brought in values-teaching from the gay community which included totally inappropriate material on homosexual practices, including class-participation in putting condoms on dildoes, discussions of the social regressiveness of certain faith-based points of view about sexual deviancy, and other highly-charged topics.
The point here is that these courses were organized, and teaching cadre selected and trained, in secret, with only a very few (liberal) people on the state board of education being aware of what was going on. The cadre's instruction included techniques for "Delphi-ing" the dialogue, and slapping down with frankly polemical techniques any objections by either students or parents to the material being put out.
It was a major stink, and the state board withdrew much of the material after public comment -- after using control of procedure (the chairwoman was in on the cabal) to prevent dissenting board members from lodging substantive protests and distributing supporting documentation for their own POV.
Better than allowing her to marry a liberal writer for the New York Times.
Once again, another story about a conversative complaining and not doing anything else. Why does he sue the school for emotional distress? Oh..wait...he likes to complain more than he likes to do something about it.
