Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) didnt hold back in his criticism of President Bush this morning at the Conservative Political Action Conferencedelivering what amounted to a presidential stump speech that could have easily been delivered in New Hampshire or Iowa.
Tancredo attacked the administration for its support of a guest-worker program for illegal aliens and its big-spending ways on education and Medicare prescription drugs.
It is the President who is out of step with his party, not Tom Tancredo, the Colorado Republican said to applause at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Northwest Washington, D.C.
Tancredo called for the repeal of two programs offered by President Bush: the No Child Left Behind Act and the Medicare prescription drug program. Both expanded the cost of government and drew the scorn of conservatives in Congress.
Tancredo said the Big Government policies of the Bush administration need to be halted. He said conservatives must return the GOP to a party of individual rights and shouldnt afraid to say it.
Eleanor Clift would kick his ass.
Why don't you tell your Senators?
Oh, that's right. Well, I guess illegals aren't such a big problem in California after all.
Tancredo has been a sponser and co-sponser of many pieces of House legislatiion. Both on immigration reform and other matters. Some of those bills have passed and some have not.
Sorry. The rest of your post is based in no reality I know of and are just more rants of another Tancredo hater.
Who was the "only hope" before Keyes? Buchanan? Perot?
Do you live in California???
Only the idjits who have always supported "nuking Mecca" will support doing so after the cartoon dust-up.
Tancredo should know better than to ever engage in that kind of inflammatory talk. He's imitating his joined-at-the-hip buddy Buchanan, whose "ride to the sound of the guns" nonsense caused him to drop like a rock in the primaries in 1996.
But all that crap plays well with the true believers.
What? In 1962 when Reagan joined the GOP, the majority party in America was the Democratic Party. Btw, what does that remark have to do with Tom Tancredo and his opposition to illegal immigration?
They should. He's the prime reason why their amnesty plan has been spinning its wheels all this time.
Thanks for the list, by the way. It's always heartwarming to see people go so far out of the way to compile information on someone they consider irrelevant.
I was born and raised and lived in San Diego for nearly a half century.
The congress a##holes are the commie from South Bay (Bob, last names escapes me right now... begins withan "F" I think) and Susan Davis.
I want Travis McGee to run!
LOL! You got it --- Patster and his "brigade."
Don't forget. There's always Ron Paul.
Wooo, that's scary: #86.
Does it have anything to do with Jeb's wife being hispanic?
I just know by electoral patterns what California thinks of illegal immigration. It ain't high on the list.
Geez louise!!! How irrational can you be. WashDC-Beltway politicos, aka. CongressCritters, issue press releases all the time. Silly boy.
I dunno, Ron Paul relishes being irrelevant. He craves it. If people agreed with his high principles (and I've seen a number of issues on which Paul chooses one high principle over another) then he'd change his principles, just to be a contrarion.
The recent special election there should prove that. If immigration was the dominating issue that certain people here claim it is, then Gilchrist should have won with 90% of the vote.
Tancredo is still riding with at least one Buchanan, and Pat is being a lot less circumspect about the less desirable parts of his platform.
