US Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) seen here in an undated handout from the Congressman's office. The Colorado lawmaker said there was a "war" under way along the US-Mexico border and urged President George W. Bush to deploy troops there, alleging drug trafficking by the Mexican military.(AFP/HO)

We've been there and done that before.

a Bush proposal to create a program which offers temporary worker status for foreign workers in order to combat illegal immigration.
Hey, maybe we can use this same logic to combat crime here in Alabama! We will eliminate the criminal code so that nothing is illegal and there you have it; Alabama will be a 100% crime free state!
I'm glad to see someone in a government somewhere who finally has the guts to call it what it is - a war.

The antiwar crowd would be right there, Cindy Sheehan, human shields and all.

He's a nice looking man. I think he looks very presidential. If only, in my lifetime, we could get a strongman in there. Then we'd fix'em.

Bush is a determined little fellow and its clear that there isn't anything he wont do to push as many illegals through the gate as possible. Whether he needs to insult the American worker in speeches, ignore unlawful incursions by Mexico military, or create secret programs to award people who break long standing immigration laws. You name it he'll do it.

The demonstration was organized to protest a Bush proposal to create a program which offers temporary worker status for foreign workers in order to combat illegal immigration. The Senate is expected to debate the plan soon.Does it also offer Temporary Soldier Status for the invading Mexican Army troops?

I believe it is more dastardly than that. He is determined to push the FTAA which will pretty much officially eliminate our Northern and Southern border.
I have no problem at all with LEGAL immigration, but border jumpers are criminals. PERIOD. When a government (Mexico) sets up an office who's specific job is to help it's citizens violate our laws with immunity, then it is time to break all ties with that government and seal the border.
The most basic function of the federal government is to secure our borders. Without secure borders, nothing else matters.
To me, aiding and abetting a hostile foreign power is treason, which is an impeachable offense.

Believe me, the borders will never be eliminated going North to South. It's a one way deal. They get to come here and rob us blind, and we get to stand with our hands in the air and shut up.
