And it was funded with the billions in oil money we got from fighting in Iraq!

Of course, all of us VRWC conspirators know that it's only the sheeple that think we haven't made anything off the Iraqi Oil. Truth is, it's been flowing full force for months and months, but we're using Halliburton to launder the funds and divert them to our bank accounts. That's why the Republican candidates are so well funded against the rats, and why I was able to buy a new house last year.

You would think a directed EMP blast of a couple of miles radius would be more effective. I guess it depends on the terrain.

Faraday cages cover that issue just fine. Further, there are still military electronics based on vacuum tubes for the express purpose of surviving EMP.

I was in the USAF Air Weather Service at Vandenberg AFB. There was an ionospheric sounder in the weather station that we has to take readings for every 12 hours. It measured the activity of the ionosphere that could effect high frequency radio transmissions. During sunspot activity, the ionospheric sounder readings would be off the chart, making high frequency transmissions almost impossible.

Hey! Me too! Though not at Vandenberg.

So you were a "weather weenie" too! :-) I was in from 1974-1979. Did they have Tech School at Chanute when you went through? I was treated very well in AWS. I also spent 3 years in Deutchland, 7th Weather Squadron... great duty! Sometimes I feel that I should have done 20 like you.

Yep, I went to Chanute in 80 for Observer school, 83-84 for forecaster school (that was great!) and in 85 for Rawinsonde school. I loved Chanute! I was going to request a spot as a weather instructor but pulled out when I heard they were moving the schools to Biloxi, MS (blech!)

I was also at 7th Weather Squadron in Heidelberg. We moved from the top floor where you guys were to a better location over near the post office (if you still remember the layout.) Small FReeper world, huh? ;-)

I was at
Chanute
Beale AFB,CA
March AFB, CA
Ft Riley, KS
Lajes Field, Azores
Heidelberg, Ge
RAF Alconbury, UK
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

I spent many an evening in the old town. I was just north of Mannheim at Coleman AAF, 7 person weather detachment, we all lived off-base. I liked it so much, I extended a year to stay there!

I bet this can be applied to the Galeleo system.

No wonder the US was not threatened by it. I bet the fact it can be "turned off at will" by the USA will piss off the french.

(annoying the french is always a worthwhile endevor.)
