President: Poland is U.S. close and loyal ally

09.02.2006 Warsaw (PAP) - We are a close ally of the United States. We are ready to be a loyal ally in exchange for mutual loyalty, President Lech Kaczynski told a Radio One correspondent on Thursday, the first day of his visit to the U.S.

As the loyal ally Poland has the right to expect respect for Polish interests as this is the basis of partnership, Lech Kaczynski explained.

"We are a state of the central Europe, member of the European Union and NATO. The U.S. is interested in the situation within NATO and here we attach importance to loyalty. The U.S. is also interested in the situation of Poland's eastern neighbours, namely Ukraine and Belarus. We are keen on cooperation in this area.

Finally, the U.S. is interested in the developments in the Russian Federation. We would like to see the U.S. attracting the Russian Federation to global cooperation with due respect given to Poland's interests, the president said.

The president also stressed that Poland strongly supports Ukrainian strivings for membership of NATO so that to push eastward the alliance's eastern border. "2008 would be the best possible year for admitting Ukraine to NATO," the president said.

He is a good man, very pro American and a friend indeed. Poland is one country that has combat troops yet in Iraq...as long as we do. He had an interview on Fox a few days ago,and all Americans should know who he is and where he stands.

Poland is one of America's top 5 allies right now. I hope they are rewarded with increased trade. Let's show the Polish people that good things come from electing leaders who stand with the U.S. and for Conservative values, despite how unpopular this may make them in the eyes of the E.U.

…The moonlight was blocked out of the mouth of the cave, for Shere Khan's great square head and shoulders were thrust into the entrance. Tabaqui, behind him, was squeaking: 'My lord, my lord, it went in here!'

… We are keen on cooperation in this area.

...with due respect given to Poland's interests, the president said.

… Enter, then, and look,' said Father Wolf, stiffly; 'but there is no food here.'

'For a wolf, no,' said Tabaqui; 'but for so mean a person as myself a dry bone is a good feast. Who are we, the Gidur-log [the jackal people], to pick and choose?' He scuttled to the back of the cave, where he found the bone of a buck with some meat on it, and sat cracking the end merrily.

Poland has seen first hand how 'sophisticated' and 'peaceloving' Europeans can be. The countries bordering Poland on the east and west seem to take turns conquering them over and over.

No wonder they will stick with the US through thick and thin.

The US is wanted to hunt the game for Tabaqui today. "Interests in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia". This has nothing to do with feeling secure.

Rzech Pospolita was more fair: it hunted its game itself.

Let's hope US and Poland will achieve the mission to spread democracy in Belarus and add another buffer state against Neo-Czarist Russia. Well, maybe another to get Prussia back in the hands of Germany if possible.

It's nice to see you consider the Orange revolution in Ukraine was an event orchestrated from abroad.

Of course, that's no news, so appropriate measures are being taken.

And such things are hardly done with “like in Ukraine” policy. No propaganda will succed in persuading one nation to submit to another one whatever money you pump from abroad.
