In some form or fashion, I have known the players in what I am about to describe as a series of regrettable moments at the funeral of Coretta Scott King.
The one I know least, President George W. Bush, won both my sympathy and respect for gallantly enduring the slings and arrows pointed directly at him during what should have been a celebration of a great woman, but instead turned into a political rally

Correct me if I am on the wrong track here, but just what as her focus been since 1968? Then, Mr. King was a respected man of the cloth who stood at the forefront of the civil rights movement, a man who earned respect, not because of his death, but because of his life.
Mrs. King? She died a multimillionaire, one who it seems was more interested in profiting from her husbands words then carrying on his cause. She was treated as royalty in Atlanta, including armed guards and limos paid for by the city.
I am not so certain that the adulations bestowed upon her are a result of her efforts as much as they are the result of a collective guilt.

I am praying that this despicable behavior of the left, and the incredible grace, poise and dignity of our President and his father, will at least make some folks start to rethink their views on both.

I don't believe for a second that some of the speakers really knew the woman personally. I didn't watch the whole thing but I watched a lot of it and didn't see a tear shed by anyone.
The Lowrey fellow is a low-life poverty pimp in my view. Yea, I know his history but he proved what he's really all about. Just another guy that happens to have a certain color of skin and a big mouth that has won the "black leader lottery". He has no real job.
As far as Jimmah Carter? He's was the worst president in modern history. Jimmah was on the payroll for 4 years and he's turned that in to millions of dollars. He's another guy with no real job. He just wiggles his eyebrows and the left pours money in to Carter's nonprofit. The fact that Carter compared the tracking of international calls from moselm bad guys to wirtapping of MLK is just daft! MLK and Osama Bin Laden being compared? That's a slap at MLK's family. MLK pushed a non-violent agenda and Osama is a crazed maniac who wants to kill people.
I guess we can wait to see who next on the left kicks the bucket next and wait for "Welstone III".

I have seen no evidence of Republicans turning funerals into bash-the-deceased amateur mike nights, whereas there is a lot of evidence that the Dems see funerals as "free shot at the republicans" events.
Basically, it is the difference between what Presidents Bush and even President Clinton did - they honored the lady being memorialized. Clinton did so more self-servingly, but he still talked about her without slinging mud at Dubya.
Coretta Scott King was, by all accounts, a gracious lady. It's a pity she could not have been remembered in a more gracious manner by her supposed firends/allies.

Bush shouldn't have attended. The presence of that screwball Carter and the radicalization of many Black clergy should have been a tip-off as to what to expect.
He should have sent a wreath instead - a very small cheap one.
By the way, why the heck do these d@mn "churches" get away with tax-free status when they continue to use their pulpits as political sounding boards???!!!
