NY Times: No Need To Show Images Of King Funeral
By a4g

Coretta Scott King, who would normally be pictured here as a reasonable visual accompaniment to this story, was laid to rest on Tuesday, after a funeral attended by family and dignitaries. To respect the sensibilities of that segment of our readership consumed with hate-filled, vile racist beliefs, weve refrained from publishing a picture of a black woman, although to describe her as black does a disservice to the rainbow of color choices available in the spectrum, the Pantone standards containing several hundred variations that could legitimately be ascribed to the gamut of facial tones.
The NY Times today announced that
it would not print images from the funeral of Coretta Scott King, based on fears that the images would offend its White Separatist readership.
Weve had long and vigorous debate in the newsroom and concluded that publishing [the photos] is not essential to telling the story, said Bill Keller, the executive editor of The Times, in an e-mail Friday evening.
Images from the funeral, which have ignited angry outrage from violent skinheads and groups such
as National Alliance, are said to be deeply offensive to those Americans who believe in racial purity and the segregation of races.
King took up the cause of civil rights after her husband, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a key figure in the US civil rights movement in the 1960s, was assassinated.
Keller described his decision to withhold elements of a story as neither easy nor entirely satisfying, but explained that we can quite adequately convey the nature of [the photos] by describing them.
He pointed to a recent Times story that revealed a highly classified NSA surveillance program, which required no accompanying photos to get the job done.

Your article source is a blog and your internal link is to a gay blog. Now, I'm not doubting the stupidity of the NYT, but do you have an actual link to the NYT reasoning? Seems to me that this kind of stupidity is even beyond the NYT. After all, race baiting this openly is on par with Julius Streicher and 'Der Sturmer.'

Thanks, that's all I wanted to know. These days, there's a mighty fine line between satire and reality and sometimes none at all.

The thin line between satire and sad truth is sometimes impossible to measure.

LOL!!!
It's LIBERALS that are the RACISTS, hence why the NYT will not print any images. The NYT believes it is better than all of us. It's a toss up as to why paper is the most RACIST. I see the NYT leading the list of racist LIBERAL rag for a newspaper.
