What did you expect from another fine member of the LIBERAL MSM establishment? Strength? Credibility? Fight for the balanced viewpoint?
Absurd, I know.
Hmmm. Fair's fair, so of course they won't print cartoons that conservatives object to
Seriously, I remember back in the late fifties when my father changed from the Boston Herald (the real Herald) to the Globe because the Herald had become too liberal and the Globe was more evenhanded.
Time marches on.
The Globe is the very definition of Appeasement Policy. Cowards.
Perhaps the greatest Letter to the Editor of all time.
...these cartoons are now the focus of a legitimate news story, one that raises many troubling and significant issues and includes reports of demonstrations around the Muslim world and mob violence directed at embassies and Europeans.
Your readers deserve to be able to judge for themselves the offensive nature of these cartoons and see what is at the heart of this story.
>>At a time when many people turn away from newspapers to the Internet for their news
speaking of which, the Globe has lost nearly 8 per cent of its readers in recent times. The rival Boston Herald, which leans
right, only lost half as many. Oh, and the Globe recently disclosed credit card info from many of their subscribers...
some of whom have since been ripped off.
oopsie. More cancelled subscriptions.
"In keeping with your cowardly policy not to offend anyone, kindly cease publication at once."
Good one, Mr. Flavell. They may not heed the writer's call but time will soon force the inevitable end result.
It's amazing to me that only the uber-liberal Philadelphia Inquirer has had the stones to publish even one of the cartoons. Its uber-liberal columnist, Trudy Rubin, has written two excellent columns about the whole flap too, and the Inquirer ran a large front-page story yesterday exposing the whole setup by the Danish imam. I normally can't stand this paper, but it deserves a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of this issue.
..And they give away your credit card info for free.
