"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.
The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."
BTTT
I think our leaders see it, and very clearly. They are just struggling to figure out how to deal with it in a "politically correct" way. More's the pity.
Certain quotes or events in history must be labeled as B.P.C (before political correctness) in the same fashion as B.C. and A.D. are used.
As true 70 plus years later.
Winnie, nailed it, as usual.
Said at a time when someone could speak the truth w/o being lynched.
Thats a great idea. I think it should be added to Urbandictionary.com
'ole Churchill would be in the same ranks today where stood President Reagan and now President Bush.
Churchill was truly the greatest leader of the 20th century. Great insight and huge balls to boot!
Winston Churchill was the greatest national leader of the 20th Century.
They are using political correctness, gay rights, anti-Christian intellectualism as a tool. Even WC couldn't forsee that.
Winston was spot on. He saw it then because the world was differant then. Now we have all the multiculturalist/secular humanists thinking the world will be a utopia one day where we can all sing Kumbaya, let heart shaped rose smelling farts, and
can walk freely anywhere because everyone loves each other because we are all equal and one people. Well I got news for them reality is brutal and evil is very real in this world.
Good post!

But this probably upset the highbrow liberal morons in Great Britain at the time.
That's almost an insult to Churchill. You make it sound as if he ranks high enough to be amongst their ranks, when he is the standard by which most others should be measured. He wasn't running around pretending that Islam is a religion of peace.
BINGO
Fascinating.
We need to find common ground with our liberal friends on the threat that Islam poses.
I propose we offer a series of diversity workshops in the mid East. When the liberals see the poor attendance, it is sure to raise their ire.
Good for Winston.
