I was catching the opening monologue on The Jimmy Kimmel Show tonight.
He'd just had a segment on Britney Spear's baby-without-a-baby-seat and
he was mentioning the continued rioting over "the cartoons" when...
A commercial for "Everybody Loves Raymond" abruptly interrupts, followed
by a commercail for a local realtor. Then those are over...
and immediately the Jimmy Kimmel feed returns, on the topic
of an obese boy being visited by Richard Simmons.
What I presume was a joke about "the cartoons" simply vanished into the ether.
Maybe I'm being too conspiratorial, but did this happen to anyone else?
If you did watch at least the opening monologue, please let me know
if there was actually a "cartoons" joke.

The only feature of broadcast television I dislike more intensely than Kimmel's face (absent the sudden appearance of old movies featuring Barbra Streisand, Woody Allen, or Tony Franciosa) is that old dude's phony-pholksy voice-over during Whataburger commercials, which cause me to fly across the room to change channels whenever I hear it.
We're talking major irritant here.
Sorry, man -- but I'd be interested to hear whether the Mouse's favorite TV property censored him.
Come on, VOA. We all know networks don't censor anything. They believe in free speech.
:-)
My major irritant are those "work at home, make a gazillion dollars, visit this website NOW......."
The ad stays the same, but the website changes monthly.
And Lesko, the idiot with the question mark suit...that guy is annoying....
Oh, come on. Lesko is the bomb!
:-)
I'll take a look when it comes on in about an hour on the Left Coast. Kimmel is OK but midway thru, I always switch to Craig Ferguson, the wonderfully funny fellow on CBS after Letterman.
Craig is a Scot, a resident alien not entirely liberal -- yet -- but he needs some encouragement to stay away from the dark side. He's also a recovering alcoholic and very funny and sane on that topic. And others, of course.
I'm with you on not liking Kimmel; it's the work his staff does in
fishing things out of the media and TV to either re-broadcast or
to edit for parody.
Otherwise, the show ain't for me either.
But I suspect that my local affiliate (in a university town with
a fair smattering of followers of Mohammed) might have hurriedly
decided it was time to pull a cover-up.
But, it could just as well have been a very interesting technical goof.
We'll see.
Might have been a local thing. I was able to view his bit in its entirety. He said something about the Muslims protesting a cartoon, then they showed rioters with signs, that had been changed to say things like...down with family Circus, death to Billy and Jeffy. Not real funny. He did a similar bit yesterday, only the signs said something about Marmaduke. Hope this helps.
Jimmy Kimmel rocks. I'm sorry you don't like him, but he's a great comedian. He appeals to the Gen X crowd. Howie Long was reportedly upset over one of his skits of him, back when Kimmel was doing his "picks" on Fox NFL Sunday.
"We all know networks don't censor anything. They believe in free speech."
Oh, the misplaced commercials could have been a technical goof.
BUT, I'm in a university town with a modestly vocal Islamic contingent.
Could be someone at the local station said "HOLY MOLY! We can't let that
out...they will burn our station to the ground!"
Here is the group that has (AFAIK) been busted in our fine town.
The FBI swooped down on the home of the operator of this group about
2 years ago...and not a peep in the news since. (Steven "Jihad In
America"'s Emerson's terrorist map identifies at least two other Islamic groups
in our fine town)

....and I have this bridge for sale out in Arizona...interested? ;~)
No interruption in Denver.
thanks for checking in...I'm fairly sure this was local.
I wouldn't be suprised if my local ABC affiliate saw those burning Danish
embassies and decided to play it safe with our local Islamics. (post 13)
Who's Britney Spear?
The local countercultural, left-wing rag did a vivisection of the "Wizetrade" guys, and uncovered a can of maggots. They're all con artists and BS artists..... have to say the little wingo creeps did a public service. These are guys walking around pretending to be "successful business consultants" who never held an honest job in their lives, the kind of guys who would be at home in a carny midway. And as the ink-stained leftist wretches pointed out, they can't answer the question, "if this 'trading system' is so hot, why are you guys buying acres of insomniac air time peddling it to us?"
Which is a killer question. Hey, this is a "technical" trading system, right? If it's the middle of the night here, hell, Tokyo's open, why aren't they trading the Nikkei stocks? Why aren't they trading Hong Kong stocks and the Straits Times Index down in Singapore? They can't tell you, because there's no answer.
Or maybe Asian stocks are .... "different." Maybe instead of trading up-and-down, they trade sideways instead.
Or something.
