Jimmy Kimmel rocks. I'm sorry you don't like him, but he's a great comedian. He appeals to the Gen X crowd. Howie Long was reportedly upset over one of his skits of him, back when Kimmel was doing his "picks" on Fox NFL Sunday.
Jerry Lewis appeals to the French. From which we deduce what?
I'm sorry, but we're light-years apart on Kimmel. Generation gaps don't get it as an explanation, either -- as I pointed out, he's straight out of Letterman's school, and Letterman is certified Grade-A Boomer. And he's a smartass, too.
Letterman and Kimmel are a little bit like Carson was in that respect -- the aura of "cool" is what they work for. Carson was smooth enough to pull it off; Letterman is practiced enough that he can make it work when he isn't showing his butt-crack by beating up on someone like Teri Garr or Connie Chung. (He started that crap with Drew Barrymore and she nailed him, though -- she jumped up on his desk and flashed him -- way to go, Drew! [Trollop! Hussy!]) I don't like Letterman when he tries to use his intelligence to strip people naked -- even when he does it (successfully) to Madonna. The most recent guest I've seen him pull that with was Kate Beckinsale, who's got more class drunk on her butt than Letterman does attending a funeral stone-sober. He also showed it when he kissed up to Oprah that time. Kissing up or piddling down, at the end of the day the boy has no class.
Kimmel's like a younger, Gen-X Letterman. 'Nuff said.
Sorry 'bout that.
I hardly think so. Kimmel is another lamer with no talent. IMO, Howie Long also sucks big time. Get real! These people are not funny.
