The republicans must reclaim their rightful history. Decades of vicious revisionism on the part of dims must be challenged.

Unfortunately, Democrats keep Blacks on their ideological plantation.
They are kept slaves to the Democrat Party, who do them absolutely no good whatsoever.
Wow
I didn't either, but in retrospect, it doesn't surprise me. As a political machine politician in Missouri, in those days, it would have been more likely than not. What *is* surprising, though, was his willingness to integrate the US armed forces, against tremendous resistance fromm all levels. He may have been a member, but he was willing to toss it behind him for the benefit of the nation...

Lincoln's actions speak far louder than his words. I believe there was talk of secession even as early as 1858, and Lincoln's priority--rightfully so--was alway to preserve the union.
Someone with more energy than I have should look up the pary platform of the Nazis and compare it to the Democratic Party's platform.
I thought I was going to get kicked out of my university a few years back when I printed the NSDAP (Nazi Predecessors) platform (1925-9) alongside the DNC's platform. Not identical, exactly, but they seemed to be coming from a similar mindset (The Culture of Death).
This is good as far as it goes. But there can not be a complete discussion on this issue without any reference at all to the "Southern Strategy", what it was and was not. It was this that caused the label of racist to be hung around the neck of the Republican party, and the refusal to discuss it is a little disingenuous. It's not that one party is racist and one not, there has been plenty to go around in both. It's just that the dems have successfully shuffled their sins onto Republicans, and can keep on sinning cause no one calls them on it. The idea goes like this, "all the bad dems left to become republicans" Its time to take that on, IMHO.
