Well, it's done. I appeared tonight on Fox News Channel's Hannity and Colmes for an all-too-brief segment on the Muhammad Cartoons. Before I drove to the Washington, D.C., studio, I stopped by a Kinko's store, printed out the cartoons, and pasted them onto a piece of poster board. I then used my short time on the airwaves to do what no one wants to do on American TV:
I tried to show viewers all 12 cartoons to give viewers the full context of the Jyllands-Posten's decision to publish the artwork.

Actually, I don't see how her religion enters into it, but I do believe that she is a convert to Judaism. I may be wrong as I only worry about someone's religion when they're trying to shove it down my throat at the point of a sword, which Christians haven't done for centuries, and Jews, millennia.
Many American Muslims are patriots. I know one who served in SF with me, and as an Air Marshal. He would have no qualms about ventilating his coreligionists for his country, no more than any of us.

I am not talking about a kumba ya moment. OK lets examine the reformation. First did the Protestant reformers in this movement represent all Christians in their strict view of the second commandment. Of course not besides having Orthodox and Catholics disagree a huge majority of the reform movements disagreed also. Lets jump to today. This people on the street that are being oraganized come from a very extreme view of Sunni Islam. In fact in Iran today you can buy pictures if the prophet thas of course a shitite country. I just saying lets keep our heads here and see whats really going on.
Coincidence?
I don't take pleasure in it, but it must be done. We must hurt them so badly that they surrender or are eliminated. My smallest convenience is worth more than the lives of every Al-Qaeda supporter in the world. If they all go crawl under a rock and die, it's a good day. If Americans don't take the attitude that we must destroy them, then they will surely destroy us. Once they surrender, then there's room for charity.

From www.metmuseum.org:
Definition of Iconoclasm
Iconoclasm, literally "icon-destruction," was a theological debate involving both the Byzantine church and state. The controversy spanned roughly a century, during the years 72687 and 81543. In these decades, imperial legislation barred the production and use of figural images; simultaneously, the cross was promoted as the most acceptable decorative form for Byzantine churches. Archaeological evidence suggests that in certain regions of Byzantium, including Constantinople and Nicaea, existing icons were destroyed or plastered over. Very few early Byzantine icons survived the Iconoclastic period; notable exceptions are woven icons, painted icons preserved at the Monastery of Saint Catherine on Mount Sinai, Egypt, and the miniature icons found on Byzantine coins, including those of Justinian II (r. 68595; 70511).
Iconoclasm: The Source of Debate
The Iconoclastic debate centered on the appropriate use of icons in religious veneration, and the precise relationship between the sacred personage and his/her image. Fear that the viewer misdirected his/her veneration toward the image rather than to the holy person represented in the image lay at the heart of this controversy. Old Testament prohibitions against worshipping graven images (Exodus 20:4) provided one of the most important precedents for Byzantine Iconoclasm. The immediate causes for this crisis have been hotly contested by scholars. Among the many suggested causes are the rise of Islam and the emperor's desire to usurp religious authority and funds.
Well if the government is going to do something, cartooning isn't going to work. That went out with World War Two. Demoralising pictures aren't stopping them these days.
>Actually, I don't see how her religion enters into it
It does enter into it. Had Michelle been a muslim, she would not have disseminated those cartoons. I'm a Christian and I would have done the same with the intent to demoralize, demean and debase the enemy and its religion. Sometimes a Christian has to be more vocal and at time even more militant. This is just one small such occasion.

NY Press Kills Cartoons; Staff Walks Out
FILE UNDER: Newspapers
The editorial staff of the alternative weekly New York Press walked out today, en masse, after the paper's publishers backed down from printing the Danish cartoons that have become the center of a global free-speech fight.

My paper dealt with the aspect of losing so much wonderful art, through the destruction by religious/govt authorities of the time.
It is interesting to see the rise of Islam angle, then as now... the more things change the more they remain the same.
Whats interesting and really sad is how this playing out in mecca. Now the Saudis as we know are guardians of the Holy sites there. But the wing of Islam there is so Iconclast there destroying major historical buildings and artifacts relating to the prophet himself. Thats the reason you see so many modern buildings around there. The view point is tear it down it promotes idolatry. This of course coincides nicely with the fact that new building are reconstructed using Royal Family Construction companies
I'm not saying that our government should spend time or money drawing cartoons. That wasn't my argument, and I hope you're not trying to twist this discussion to claim that it was. My argument was that we shouldn't criticize whoever drew these cartoons for attacking and demoralizing our enemy.
On the other hand, maybe we need to go back to more of what we did in WWII. In that war, we had the Japanese signing a surrender less than four years after their initial attack. We're nearly four and a half years past the initial attack that started this war, and we haven't yet destroyed the enemy enough to force a surrender.

Remember the Taliban blowing up the ancient Buddhas???
Why the Taliban are destroying Buddhas
By W.L. Rathje, Discover Archaeology Magazine
In the Diamond Sutra, the historical Buddha, Sakyamuni (whose lifetime crossed the fifth and fourth centuries B.C.), says to a disciple: "Thousands of lifetimes ago when my body was cut into pieces by King Kalinga, I was not caught in the idea of a separate self or life span. If, at that time, I had been caught up in any such idea, I would have felt anger and ill-will against the king." Now, that's Buddhist tolerance!
In Afghanistan recently, supreme Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar issued an edict against un-Islamic graven images, which means all idolatrous images of humans and animals. As a result, the Taliban are destroying all ancient sculptures. Explosives, tanks, and anti-aircraft weapons blew apart two colossal images of the Buddha in Bamiyan Province, 230 kilometers (150 miles) from the capital of Kabul.
Well has been a parade of anti-Christian cartoons going on in the media over the years. What have you done about it?
*I don't advocate the lampooning of anyone's religious icon.....
Jesus is not a religious ICON - IS HE GREATER than any cartoon?. He is GREATER than all nations and kings. It really shouldn't bother anyone what is said or written about Jesus. We know that "Greater is HE that is in you than he that is in the world" for the true believer. Our faith is not based on what is published is a comic strip.
What could any one say or write about HIM - that would be worse - than what was done to him - Yet is was for our salvation that HE died. He KNOWS who HE is ... a cartoon won't change that. Aren't you glad that HE is our LORD!
You are clearly ignorant of even the most elementary teachings of Islam. To equate a religion that is the only major religion that has the death penalty for apostates, to other world religions, is a diservice to freedom loving patriots the world over.
Colmes is indeed a weasel.
Later on tonight's broadcast, he had the nerve to talk about how the DNC is going to "take the White House back."
What disturbs me is not that he says things like that with a straight face, but the fact he believes America will be a better place should that happen. Just disturbing.
What I really look forward to is the continuance of DNC infighting. Kerry VS Hillary VS Kennedy VS Obama VS Dean etc...
