You can say what you want to about the Stones, but their records still sell. They are multi-millionaires. And they should have been dead from drug abuse years ago.

But they are still here, and, by longevity alone, have a good claim to calling themselves "The Worlds Greatest Rock and Roll Band". Since 1962 till now is a long time.

They sucked big time. The Rolling Stones and the lesbian (Whooperettes) and the homo (Hummer) commercials made me thankful for Netflix and choosing my own entertainment from the long tail of quality. Just finished the "Wiseguy" TV series (crime drama from 1987) with Kevin Spacey (where he got his start) and Joan Severance (very attractive actor from Dallas).

Britany Spears is a multi-millionaire too.
Didn't Jessica Simpson get payed $500k+ for that PizzaHut commercial?

The Beach Boys are still touring and I think they still sell out large venues. Sometimes longevity is not a good thing.

How is it that Keith and Charlie are still breathing?

They had all of their blood removed in France and had it replaced with good blood not tainted with drugs. Several times. A total blood transfusion. The whole band.

You either like them or you don't. I do, you don't.

Did they really have their blood replaced or is that an urban legend?
I guess when you have tons of $$$$$ you can do things like that.

According to an old story in Rolling Stone magazine (when it was worth a crap) that is exactly what happened. They used it as a method to kick their heroin habits every now and then.

... editors silenced one word close to the song's end, a reference to a woman so sexy she could arouse a dead man.

When they were young it was edgy - now it's dirty old men being silly...

I always liked Devo's interpretation of "Satisfaction" much better.

Greatest. Cover. Ever.

They took that song and made it their own. Too many groups do covers that sound like they're trying to sound as close to the original as possible. What's the point? If you have no new perspective, why bother?

Devo's version is so good that, having heard it once, I even came away liking the original version better than I had before.

I've been going to concerts since the 50's. I saw the Kingston Trio (The ORIGINAL with Dave Guard, Nick Reynolds, and Bob Shane), country stars too numerous to count, Jimi Hendrix and the Monkees at the same venue, but the best concert I ever saw was, believe it or not, The Little River Band. They could play, sing and harmonize the best of any group I ever saw. One could tell they had been at it a long time. They were professional and just knocked me out.

Don't forget Otis Redding's rendition of "Satisfaction". It stayed at #1 in Austin, Texas, for six weeks.

I like the Little River Band too. "I've seen the bright lights of Memphis, and the Commodore Hotel"...Dixie Chicken.

Didn't one of the main band member die from electrocution? Lowell George?

Ah, to heck with the Stones! The Pretty Things and the Downliners Sect blew 'em away at their own game. And ask Mick why they didn't release the "Rock and Roll Circus" film for 30+ years - because the Who absolutely destroyed them!
