Remember the heat and mobility factors. If they don't cut it here, than the mask is useless, except for tactical situations/SWAT ops.

good idea.. Most useful for assaults on heavily defended positions..
Also, great for special forces who may find themselves outgunned...
Obviously, this can't be worn for all situations, but I can imagine quite a few where it will be.

Got to be kind of hard to see out of, isn't it? Might work for the 1st guy thru the door but don't think it would be really useful otherwise

I bet this guy will be the first in line to buy one. I'm sure it could come in handy intimidating little kids and fishermen.

Imagine an entire opposing team crapping their pants simultaneously when I skate out onto the ice before my next hockey game wearing this thing. LOL.

In the late 50's classic Star ship Troopers Heinlein described future soldiers in digitally controlled full body powered armor.
When one combines armor with the powered exoskeleton research of Berkley University (DOD financed), digital communications and computer sensors, the Starship Trooper suit may be coming sooner than later.
And not a day too soon.

IIRC, there's already something out there for helicopter crewmen, with integrated communications. Looks like a stormtrooper helmet and isn't nearly as big as this. I've seen pics of Blackwater helos with door gunners wearing the other version.

This is nothing really new. They already have face shields for pilot helmets:

You will NOT be able to shoulder your M-16 and line up on the sights with this thing on.
