"Thousands Remember Coretta Scott King" ---------- I was watching Fox News and they showed Jimmy Carter speaking at Coretta Scott King's funeral, and sure enough, he started talking about illegal wire-tapping and other examples of government run amok. I am appalled that he would use this opportunity to bash the President, but not really surprised. :-(

It was amusing to see fat Teddy up there at the podium lauding MLK and Mrs. MLK when his two brothers did their damndest to sink that trouble maker by having his phone converations and his sexual escapades tape recorded. They wanted to diminish King before he got too powerful and took over the black vote.

Only an opportunist like a Kennedy would pull a "Kennedy" at a funeral.

Hillary could easily be mistaken as a druggy if she was seen standing on a street corner.

Jimmy Carter: still the worst ex-president. Jimmy Carter's legacy is the radical Islamic movement. He allowed it to take hold in Iran. He allowed the Shah to be deposed. He caused the taking of the hostages. He had so depleted out military that rescue attempt failed because out helicopters could not deal with the sand of the middle east.

His presidency was a nightmare only ended by a Reagan landslide. The pollsters during that election said that the election was too close to call. Yeah, I trust the pollsters too.

If there wasn't a huge spray of roses on the casket, I think some of them probably would have!! Anything to further the cause!

Maybe we should voice our disgust with the redneck president himself. Try these:

carterweb@emory.edu
carter.library@nara.gov

I love Jimmy Carter.

If not for him, there wouldn't have been a Ronald Reagan landslide.

TWICE!

And Jimmy just opened the door to educate the nation as to who did the wire tapping and why. Not only will this sully the reputation of one of the country's most beloved presidents, it will also serve as a means to contrast the difference between JFK's and W's actions. W could have brought this up but he was too much the gentleman to do it, and he won't be the one pointing it out for the rest of the week, either. The 'Rats just keep stepping in it. Thank you, Jimmy.

Here's Jimmy's biography on the Carter Center website:

"Jimmy Carter served as President from January 20, 1977 to January 20, 1981. Significant foreign policy accomplishments of his administration included the Panama Canal treaties, the Camp David Accords, the treaty of peace between Egypt and Israel, the SALT II treaty with the Soviet Union, and the establishment of U.S. diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. He championed human rights throughout the world. On the domestic side, the administration's achievements included a comprehensive energy program conducted by a new Department of Energy; deregulation in energy, transportation, communications, and finance; major educational programs under a new Department of Education; and major environmental protection legislation, including the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act."

Quite a list of accomplishments.

It's a shame that D'rats act that way.

It's a bigger shame that they don't see anything wrong with acting that way.

Actually, I am very glad Carter did this.

He represents all that is right in the DNC.

We need more of this.

The problem in the Dem party is they can't keep their mouths shut.

I am amazed at their ignorance. Just got done watching Harman (CA) on Wolf Blitzer. my god, these people are soo stupid as to the laws. It is NOT that difficult. She was going on about "domestic wiretapping" being "unlawful". they dont listen to a thing being said! Bottom line is, do they want Al Queda stopped or not?

AmericaUnite said:
Heard it reported on Fox last night that Carter's son is running for senator in Nevada. Carter was to have said he was going to go all over the country campaigning for his son.

More proof that Jimmah should be nowhere near a polling place, as he clearly doesn't know that THERE'S NO REASON TO CAMPAIGN ANYWHERE BUT NEVADA!!!!

Yeah, the Panama Canal treaties were tricky to negotiate. "Hey, Panama. How about we give you the Canal?"

Isn't he double counting peace between Israel and Egypt by mentioning the Camp David Accords? I guess when you have to reach, you have to reach.

Given that the hard ground was plowed by Nixon with SALT I, SALT II can't be regarded as a landmark accomplishment. And Nixon was the one who plowed the ground opening relations with China.

Sorry, Fred, what does discussion of the Nazi's have to do this? I think you blew a gasket or something.

I said "they would gas us, if they could," a proposition with which you agreed. I know my post was more than 3 lines long, but do try to stay focused. Or do you need a history lesson about the Nazis and their preferred methods of 'liquidation?'

The latter involves strong emotions and hatred but it is different than personal hatred in that it is based on one's association with a group rather than individual hatred. Dems and socialists think in terms of groups rather than individuals.

Wrong. "The personal is political." They use groups to leverage political power. They may think in collective terms in their goals, but that hardly means they don't identify individual enemies. Apparently you do need a history lesson. OK, here's the non-linearly thinking version for victims of the American public school system who don't even read their own posts: In the 20th century, Socialism murdered more people than any other cause, and more humans than in all the previous centuries combined.

If you think that level of "zealous partisanship" is fundamentally different from "personal hatred," either in its emotional chemistry or external effects, all I can say is, go have an argument with someone who wants to talk about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. I'm not interested in distinctions which make no difference.

The original Enemies Lists were drawn up by leftists. They had names of actual individuals, who actually died. Did Ramon Mercader tell his target with the ice-pick in the back of his head that "there's nothing personal about this?" Maybe he did. But of course, there was.

Gas Shortages
Hostage Crisis
Double Digit Inflation
Double Digit Interest Rates
The Invention of "The Misery Index"
A Birth of Islamic Radicals
Gave in to Communism
The "Malaise" Speech
Warned All Americans About the Dangers of Rabbit Attacks

Did I miss any?

Buchanan was exiled from Republican podiums years ago, after party officials believed the press nonsense that the Buckaroo had shocked Americans with his speech at the - was it 1992? - convention.

The fact is that after the convention, the GOP ticket received a boost and was ahead of Clinton and Perot. Yet the conventional wisdom developed in Republican circles after the elder Bush's disastrous defeat that Buchanan's militant speech had cost the party the Presidency. Even a conservative like Dan Quayle repeated the allegation in an interview during the late 1990s.
