LITHONIA, Ga. - Shivering in near-freezing temperatures, thousands of people waited hours in line Tuesday for one last chance to say goodbye to Coretta Scott King before her funeral.
"There's one word to describe going to go see Coretta historic. It's good to finally see her at peace," said Robert Jackson, a 34-year-old financial consultant from Atlanta whose 10-year-old daughter, Ebony, persuaded him to take her to the visitation.
The lines had already started forming by 3 a.m. By the time the doors opened at 6:30 a.m., people toward the end were warned that if they stayed in line they likely wouldn't get into the funeral because of long lines that were already forming there.
An estimated 10,000 people, including four U.S. presidents, were expected to attend the midday funeral at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where King's daughter Bernice is a minister.

The funniest moment though was when Bubba started going on and on and on about HIMSELF, the smile vanished from Hillary's face.

The President's remarks from this morning are now posted at the White House's website, www.whitehouse.gov.
For your consideration.

Did I miss something or was there not a televised "event" for Chief Justice Rhenquist when he died?Actually there was. Aside from the round-the-clock viewing of the casket at the USSC building on CSPAN, they covered his funeral service.

He had a formal lying in state in the Supreme Court. It was televised. The funeral was private, at St. Matthew's.

It was on CSPAN, but what about the cable networks?

Some wonderful messages and pathos. But a disgraceful, performance by that President Emeritus of the SCLC, a half hour or so, ago. To take advantage of such an occasion, with the current and former presidents there paying respect, to pimp to the ridiculing (ridiculous) and disrespectful, trash-mouthing, leftist political mentality an outrage.

I like to think that the Bushes as just classier and more decent than these people. If I were in charge of the awards around here, you'd win understatement of the year for that one.
To: Howlin
I can't figure out what song he is trying to sing

It was on all the cable networks; hopefully only because these stations realize it's the end of the line for this trumped up legacy. I so wish President Bush would have been the one to apologize for the wiretaps that John Kennedy approved on Martin Luther King. I know, it would have been all over the networks how inappropriate this statement was at the funeral. Yet peanut can make disgusting political implications and he's a great southern President. Someone tell Jimmy, he could'nt get elected governor in the South today!
Then that whole thing about hurricane Katrina being racists. How can sane people tolerate this junk!!
