The Nasty Boy award goes to Russ Feingold. He called the president a liar basically, was on the attack all day long. I figure he was the designated "make moveon.org happy" hitter for the day. Kennedy, Feinstein, and even Schumer and Leahy were much more subdued in yesterday's Judiciary hearing with Gonzales than they were last week in the Intelligence Committee hearings.

As I watched Kennedy's quiet, almost non-accusatory questioning of Gonzales, I couldn't believe he was the same guy I watched last week.

I know I'm biased, but I enjoyed the helloutta yesterday's hearing. Gonzales didn't give an inch.

My husband and I had a conversation yesterday about all of the dishonesty we observed from some Democrats during the Alito hearings and now, concerning the wiretapping to prevent terrorism. Of course, all of this unfair and dishonest behavior constantly goes on without fact or merit. Every Bush act is distorted and caricatured into the opposite of what it is, it seems to us. I am sure we all remember that the events of 9/11 took place very early in the Bush administration. He had just moved into the neighborhood and my goodness, the outcry from the left that he should have done something to have prevented that awful event, was deafening, useless and awful. Now, his policies have prevented another attack for all of these years and they have flipped to fit their accusations against the policies he has put into place to keep us safe. He is doing what they accused him of NOT doing and now, they are trying to destroy him because of it. If our enemies are allowed to freely plan and execute plans via modern communication systems such as through telephones, emails and the like, stopping them will be impossible. I have some thoughts about those whose complaints are the loudest. Do they have something significant to hide along the lines of national security? How childish and regressive do we have to be before common sense Americans will awaken and say "Enough!"

Keep in mind that yesterday was Monday, and Kennedy was probably extra-hungover. Give him a day or two to even things out with a few more bottles....
