Volkswagen AG's American unit is working with Nvidia on a prototype vehicle which features Google Inc.'s satellite mapping software to give drivers a bird's eye view of the road ahead. The car manufacturer showed off the prototype car at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. |
The Radical Six Part Toaster rotates and heats the toast in single compartments. The compartments lift from the main assembly and swing open to allow toast to keep warm and crisp on its hot plates. Leave it to the brainiac graduate students at the MIT Media Lab to come up with fashions that blend techno-geekiness with other-planet surrealism....The curators described the event as a showcase for innovative and experimental works in computational apparel design, interactive clothing, and technology-based fashion. |
Quantum Teleportation is something to keep an eye on if you're interested in Star Trek style futuristic inventions. Most people didn't think that Quantum Teleportation was possible and now many are saying that it probably won't lead to a useful Star Trek type of teleporter, but they're making the same mistake again. If Quantum Teleportation was thought to be impossible, why make any more statements about the impossibility of anything else? With imagination and the ability to learn from past experiments, humans can learn do just about anything if given enough time. The MetroNaps pod was designed with one thing in mind: the Powernap. Its contours are perfect for napping; its mechanical processes are perfect for waking. MetroNaps pods feature Bose® QuietComfort 2® Noise Cancelling® headphones. |
SLEEPTRACKER® continuously monitors the most subtle physical signals from your body as you sleep and gently wakes you when you're most alert within a set window of time. The result? You wake up refreshed instead of groggy. Waking up has never been easier! Worn like an everyday watch, SLEEPTRACKER® is ideal for anyone who wants to wake up alert and ready to start the day, such as frequent travelers across time zones, business people looking for an extra edge, students with fluctuating schedules, or busy moms who need to wake up easily. |
The first reliable non-invasive glucose monitor is finally here! The LifeTrac SugarTrac Non-Invasive Glucose Monitor transmits a low energy beam of near IR light through the earlobe and measures the amount of glucose concentrated in the patients blood. No more pain and bleeding a few times each day just to check your blood sugar. I bet Bones has one of these!! |

Contour Crafting is a layered fabrication technology developed by Dr. Behrokh Khoshnevis of the University of Southern California. Contour Crafting technology has great potential for automating the construction of whole structures as well as sub-components. Using this process, a single house or a colony of houses, each with possibly a different design, may be automatically constructed in a single run, embedded in each house all the conduits for electrical, plumbing and air-conditioning. |
"Autoslide is an automatic door system which attaches to new and old manual patio/flyscreen & Security Screen sliding doors, to enable the door to open and close automatically. Star Trek it isn't, yet, but it's gettin' there! |
Moller International has developed the first and only feasible, affordable, personal vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle the world has ever seen. The M400 Skycar has vertical take-off and landing abilities similar to a helicopter, flies like an airplane, and can travel short distances on the ground like an automobile. All this and incredibly, it's easy to fly! Actually a computer does the flying. The pilot need only move the controls in the direction he wants to go so that little skill is required. |
Samsung announced it has developed a prototype of a fuel cell that can be used in PDAs and portable multimedia players. This fuel cell technology works by converting methanol fuel into hydrogen which is combined with oxygen in a seemingly magic process that [insert miracle here] results in energy and heat, with water as a byproduct. In this case, that energy powers a 1.5-watt multimedia player that Samsung said can run up to four hours on one fuel cartridge. |

LOL...you saw them? Grin...no.. I didn't. However, I do that because when you post a thread, if those words aren't at the very top, they don't show on the synopsis that's put where everyone sees it. I wanted those words first. I do it on all my threads...grin. For example, when I posted this, they saw on the new articles page:
