OK, so I just did a quick scan of WND. Between the blinking ads and content fitting for the checkout counter at the local grocery store, I suppose one could find meaningful content. My hope is that FR folks maintain better sources than WND.

Which is a very good point in this particular debate. It's quite clear that Moslems do, in fact, worship Mohammad's picture if it's shown to them.

"But I would refer to the burning bush and Moses bare feet again. Was he committing idolatry? Was the ground God?"

Moses was in the presence of God, manifest through the burning bush. If Moses or anyone else were to have returned to that spot, after the fact, and had begun to worship the bush itself, that would be idolatry.

It's still just paper.

I don't care. My God is more powerful than anything they can do to Him. I don't worship symbols, I worship Him, and He calls me not to be offended by trivia.

The Mahdi is not the Messiah. He simply arrives BEFORE the Messiah for the purpose of setting things straight.

Sounds like a garbled tale from the New Testament doesn't it.

Muslim desecration of other religions will never get any press. MSM and their lefty handlers are on the side of the terrorists.

On the other hand, merely citing the vast numbers of people who hold to what so many of us on this side believe is a false belief does nothing but solidify our resolve to hold our position.

It's still just paper. God's Word is eternal ~ you can, as it were "hold it in your heart".

Try doing that with a book ~ ain't gonna' fit.

it was more an observation that the entire tale was/is suspect, because this supposed reverence would have prevented such a thing.

I understand that there may be such respect among truly religious Muslims. You show more understanding than I for "the (muslim?)brotherhood" implying that "the tale is? suspect" I vividly remember this event and still feel my blood pressure raise thinking about it.

If a Christian group had done this to a mosque, there would have been hell to pay. Just another case of Muslim's demonstrated contempt for everyone else on the globe.

Your position is noted. My response was directed initially at a post that seemed to be claiming to speak for all Christians. It was not my intention to say your wrong in your belief (although I do in fact disagree with you). Rather it was my intention to note that the original post was poorly written in that it seemed to be speaking for all Christians. See post 7 and my 14.

. Muslims believe that a Messiah-type figure (Imam Mahdi, or the Mahdi) will appear (or re-appear) at a difficult period of history to restore the faith and ensure the final victory of Islam.

jecIIny - Remember that God looks at the heart of a person and their innermost motives.

If I found an old Bible and many pages were missing or torn and it was beyond repair, then it would be OK to dispose of it.

If I, in an act of aggression towards Christianity, tore up a Bible and disposed of it in the parking lot of the local Baptist Church, then my that is different matter all together.

My futile act would be viewed by God and I will answer for actions.

You are correct. Disposing of a Bible that is worn beyond repair is perfectly acceptable provided its done in a respectful manner. The same principal used when burning flags.

Muslims show equal disrespect for the Bible, what it contains. To them it is all trash. If they do not respect your Holy Book, they will not respect you.

So where is the danger there?

It has the message of GRACE and JUDGEMENT and even though it is the only written record, if it is not believed plus nothing else, burn it, use it for toilet paper, it makes no difference concerning these lame and stupid misuses, the Bible has the message and the only message given unto man whereby he must be saved and GRACE or JUDGEMENT will still be the final payday someday depending upon each person's choice and not the silliness of how the Bible as a book was physically treated.

Voyager:

The question that EVERYONE will answer is this - "What did you do with Jesus?" - Repent and surrender to Him in obedience or Reject Him.

One day we will all meet Him, as Lord or as Judge.

I believe that Satan has deceived people through the prophecies of Mohammed and the Koran. Islam is one of his finest tools he has devised to lead people away from the TRUTH.

I do not disagree but I would say, without mentioning the name of the religion, that there is another cult that has inumerable numbers of followers in bondage that also blinds them from seeking the real Christ and His Word.

Islam = antichrist?

I believe it. What other religion promises an eternity of debauchery if you die while murdering others?

Islam is the religion of "Beavis and Butthead"...

"You mean we get to like, do chicks? ...and drink...beer? FOREVER!? Yeah, Islam is cool... heh...heheheh..."
