Posted on 02/06/2006 6:08:53 AM PST by ken5050
Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..

CSPAN re-airs this thing at 8:00pm ET tonight.
Jack Bauer changed that to 10. You will be watching Jack Bauer kill terrorists at 8. ;o)

how do they know they were monitored domestically? maybe its a setup, they used call forwarding from a call overseas back into the US.Ever since the bozo's in the lamestream press told everybody OBL uses a sat. phone, the job of catching him is 10 times harder, and Leahy rips Gonzalez and the Bush White House that OBL is still "at large".

what I don't quite understand is that Gonzales keeps having to:
1. Correct them that this narrowly defined program covers INTERNATIONAL calls.
2. Remind them we are in a state of war.
3. Remind them of their responsibility when they authorize the use of military force. If they sought to limit the use of military force they should have stated it clearly in their declaration.
4. That he is there to discuss this particular program and refuses to answer the democrats hypothetical, hysterical, conspiracy theories.

Gonzales: It's burdensome that things expire and we have to get them renewed; it places a burden on our staff so I'll get back to you what changes would be helpful.
Brownback: I wish you would get back to me because I think we'll be in this for a long time and under various adminsitrations. We need security for the American public that there is no abuse. We want to protect people.
Clinton's AG talked about this too, it's not just this administration. As this wears on, we need to have those thoughts on how we can make FISA work better.
Gonzales: We want to ensure the protection of the rights of all Americans.
MEMO TO THE LEFT: My first and most basic right is not to be killed by jihadists.

It's tough getting a good pizza in my area, but I don't think Iraq, Afghanistan, or Pakistan could do much better! ;-)

I don't have CSPAN and I'm listening to sound clips on the radio, but he sounds great. He's calm, confident, and cool as the other side of the pillow. Al Gonzalez has star quality too.
