HINDUS CONSIDER it sacrilegious to eat meat from cows, so when a Danish supermarket ran a sale on beef and veal last fall, Hindus everywhere reacted with outrage. India recalled its ambassador to Copenhagen, and Danish flags were burned in Calcutta, Bombay, and Delhi. A Hindu mob in Sri Lanka severely beat two employees of a Danish-owned firm, and demonstrators in Nepal chanted: ''War on Denmark! Death to Denmark!"In many places, shops selling Dansk china or Lego toys were attacked by rioters, and two Danish embassies were firebombed.
It didn't happen, of course. Hindus may consider it odious to use cows as food, but they do not resort to boycotts, threats, and violence when non-Hindus eat hamburger or steak. They do not demand that everyone abide by the strictures of Hinduism and avoid words and deeds that Hindus might find upsetting. The same is true of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Mormons: They don't lash out in violence when their religious sensibilities are offended. They certainly don't expect their beliefs to be immune from criticism, mockery, or dissent.
But radical Muslims do.

Yes, it is very encouraging. They're finally getting it.
Agreed.
Most have fallen asleep.
Sad.
I was in NYC on 911, I went home to my apartment in Northern NJ, My bedroom window was open, I could literally SMELL the fire and smell the death.
I will never forget it.
Now when will we get it, as in US press? We're supposed to be leading the way to freedom in the world, but I guess that's only if we don't have too many sleeper cells.
Sorry I missed out on their support of OIF.
Let the record reflect that I offer apologies to the Danes, the GOVT is neither Gutless or Wimpy.
I guess just haven't been as high profile as the UK.
Well, my guess is that the US press has other priorities. I don't think they will get it. I can't say for sure what their priorities are, just what they aren't for - protection of the American way of life, freedom, that kind of stuff.
The explanation given above on the motives of the new imperialists is putting the best face on it. In reality modern leftism has long since degenerated into a murderous, genocidal racist movement mad with fury to eliminate white people who stand in the way of their egalitarian utopia, and willing to use any weapon available to eliminate their hated foe. Thus the bizarre spectacle of Western leftists inviting medieval Muslims to colonize their nations.
???
I suspect Mr. Jacoby will get some angry e-mails from Mormons for implying that they are not Christians, but I doubt any of them will threaten to behead him.
So Danes speak German? How close is the translation? (i.e. Ich bin vs. Ich ben)
If nothing else, these actions display the underlying goals of not only the Islamofascists, but of a growing inclusion of "mainstream" Muslims.
But this is nothing new. History is full of groups of people who tried to impose their will on others, usually through force. And history so far is equally full of those groups who stood up against them and put them down, usually through force.
This is going to get a lot uglier than we have seen.
Let's get it over with.
I did today. Two lego sets for the boy and a 6 of Carlsberg for the game.
The Danes are stalwart allies.
< Fox Sunday showed one of the cartoons this morning and Juan Williams took a pretty bold stand not only against the violence, but against Islam as well (paraphrasing: "...a weak religion if it can't handle some cartoons..."). >
Yes. We beat up on Wrong Wuan a lot, but we should take note of the strength of his statement this morning.
"--b--" is my bandwidth-saving abbreviation for "bump for later reading"--
Mohammeds Monsters are proving our point tot he whole world. They are intolerant, murdering terrorist thugs. Islam will have to be declared incompatible with western society.

It is also barely a month away from what is believed to be Iran's nuclear weapons test (on or around 20th of March...) Coincidences? I don't think so...

Thank you both for the correction...sometimes you get the right idea and wrong follow through!
