The increasingly bitter row over the publication of a series of controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad reached a new intensity last night as protesters set fire to the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Syria.
With police signalling that they will launch an investigation into the behaviour of protesters in London who called for those insulting Islam to 'be beheaded', protesters in the Syrian capital, Damascus, defied tear gas and water cannon to enter the Danish embassy and replace that country's flag with another which read: 'No God but Allah, Mohammad is His Prophet.'
Last night the Danish embassy, which was empty when attacked, was a charred hulk. The Norwegian embassy was still burning. As well as the dramatic scenes in Damascus - not known for its Islamic militancy - rising tensions among Muslims over the publication of 'blasphemous' cartoons in Denmark threatened to boil over across the globe.

It appears that they will only be enlightened by "the light of a thousand suns"...
Well... Guess it just might be time to 'light them up' then.
As a proud American "infidel". My response to them would not be moral,,, or Christan.., but it would be absolute.
hey terrorist suicide decapitating murderer raghead,

It's been brewing for 1,000 years. I have to agree with you. Time to end it. BTW, I now have decided how I feel about the Crusades. Too bad they didn't finish the job.

There is nothing immoral or unChristian about stopping evil. Even if one feels strongly about turning the other cheek when it comes to personal attacks, there is the responsibility to protect the innocent. I can turn the other cheek for myself but I can't do it for someone else. If we don't stop the evil in whatever way is necessary, we'll be the *enlightened* ones.

I hate to say this, but is there inbreeding in certain parts of the world that is little reported in the papers?

doug, just to let you in a the actual history of the Danish...they're REALLY an
HUNGARIAN pastry!
During WW I, many Americans of German, Austrian, and Hungarian descent/recent immigrants from these nations, were ostracized and their businesses boycotted. What you now know as a "DANISH", is, in reality, a delkeral. Because they weren't selling, the name of it was changed( implying that the product had a totally different origin ) to "DAN ISH" and it once again sold very well.
Okay, probably far more info than you ever wanted to know, but I do like accuracy. :-)

I have read another interpretation somewhere but is essentially says the same thing.
We should not choose evil of our own volition (ie; abortion etc) but if it is forced upon us we are to lay it at his feet.
When it is one evil choice against another (action or no action) to evil, then we are to lay it at his feet.
What these yahoos never get, is that they always mis-underestimate American's. Once we are committed, the result is inevitable.. Hiroshima comes to mind.

Can you believe the insanity of these people? There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that, should any Islamic country get 'the bomb', they're going to use it against the West.

The fasle prophet (more likely agent of satan) Mohammad was nothing more than a pedophile that managed to convince a bunch of crazies that he had a vision form God.

No, but Syria has the responsibility for maintaining legitimate authority within her boundaries. This includes the safety of the embassey within Syria. If Syria is unable to abide by international law, then Syria is liable for the behavior of her citizens. If Syria condones the behavior, then the authority within Syria is illegitimate and may be replaced by legitimate external authority.
