Wearing a brown golf cap against the cold drizzle, Rocky Omary stood outside Walima Cafe in Falls Church, where he and about 50 other men of Middle Eastern descent had just watched the Tunisian soccer team take a drubbing from the Nigerians.
That trouncing was bad enough. But Omary had other, more disturbing, insults on his mind: specifically, the recent publication in European newspapers of cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist.
(Nikki Kahn - The Washington Post) "I've been getting a lot of e-mails about it, and I'm distributing them all," said Omary, a Damascus native who sells real estate in Northern Virginia. "There is a limit to freedom. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. Let's have some respect."
A few miles away at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society mosque in Sterling, Zaki Al Barzinji, 16, was equally upset.
"Just because you can say something doesn't mean you should say something," the teenager said. "If somebody showed a picture of the Pope with a bomb on his head, that would cause a great public outcry. Nobody would be talking about freedom of speech."

I assume you know the answer to this question.
They keep saying this as if it should matter. I think they are trying to suggest a threat with it.
They've been using this as far back as 12 Sept 2001 (Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR). It's *not* a suggested threat, it's an outright attempt at extortion, and should be treated as such. Last time *I* looked at the criminal law codes, extortion was a felony, so let's see some arrests and prosecutions the next time this comes out...

NOW I understand why they feel it is okay to spout hate about Jews, Baha'is, Jains, Zoroastrians, etc: There aren't enough of them for Muslims to "respect" them.
So, what is their excuse for Christians, Hindus, Buddhists...?
Like everything else that they spout, "respect" has a twisted meaning.
Truth is, they only "respect" whoever is able to kick their teeth in, and then KEEP one foot either on their neck, or planted in their @55.
Thank God. That we are armed.
What??
""There is a limit to freedom. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. Let's have some respect." "
It is YOUR JOB to figure out the difference.
BTW, the point in showing the Nast cartoon was to demonstrate a "hat" that's been disburbingly modified. Notice the alligator teeth!
It's funny today. In its time it was pretty much the same thing as a Mo picture with a bomb in the turban.
Last time I looked Ibrahim Hooper was NOT part of the government (thank God).
That is only *one* form of extortion. Blackmail is legally extortion, and private citizens have been convicted of extortion before. The "protection rackets" done by numerous organized crime rings also falls under extortion. So as youi can see, one doesn't necessarily have to have an official position to extort...
