Area Muslims React With Tempered Anger--Some Say Depiction Overstepped Liberties [DC]

Wearing a brown golf cap against the cold drizzle, Rocky Omary stood outside Walima Cafe in Falls Church, where he and about 50 other men of Middle Eastern descent had just watched the Tunisian soccer team take a drubbing from the Nigerians.
That trouncing was bad enough. But Omary had other, more disturbing, insults on his mind: specifically, the recent publication in European newspapers of cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist.
(Nikki Kahn - The Washington Post) "I've been getting a lot of e-mails about it, and I'm distributing them all," said Omary, a Damascus native who sells real estate in Northern Virginia. "There is a limit to freedom. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. Let's have some respect."
A few miles away at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society mosque in Sterling, Zaki Al Barzinji, 16, was equally upset.
"Just because you can say something doesn't mean you should say something," the teenager said. "If somebody showed a picture of the Pope with a bomb on his head, that would cause a great public outcry. Nobody would be talking about freedom of speech."

I'm starting to get the uneasy feeling that the Islamis and even many in the rest of the country are starting to forget the cartoons were published in Europe.....and the blame is going to be slid on the U.S. very quickly (if it hasn't started already).
Anyone else have this premonition?

do we really want the terrorists islamists to blow up New York with a nuclear bomb!!! If we do nothing that is what will take place! The clock is ticking in that direction for a European capital.
If there are any sane muslim leaders in Europe, I fear they have lost control of the asylum they call a religion.

Every time I see your name, I remember what you said about "Hizb ut-Tahrir"...remember that? "His butt too hairy?"
I think that qualifies as blasphemy...but so hilarious!

On another subject...I have a well-cleaned ruger .357 speed six on my night stand but have been thinking of a 12-gauge for the corner of the room (considering this coming trouble)...but what the heck is a mini?
My grand-dad and great grand-dad had a habit of sleeping with sumpin under their pillow. Might be paranoia...might not.
But that's the South.

My mini is about 2 inches long, 5 shot 22 revolver. Fits in the palm of my hand.
I have my .38 under my side of the mattress. Hubby has his 1911 under his side. I love my 12 ga. If you get the chance, get one.

My kinda gal...the mini sounds like it might bite like a cheap cigar (and that ain't all bad)...what kind of 12-gauge do you recommend
I have been thinking of something accurate at distance (with a scope).
I think we are going to war...it's a shame, but true.

You hate the West, Omary. Why are you here? Why is he here? Oh, the freedom, the money, the comfortable life, all made possible by...oh hell, never mind, you get the idea. I'm going to stop now before I get myself banned.

Mine is a Mossberg 88. If I had my druthers I'd want a Remington M870. If you have a bit of cash laying around, get a Street Sweeper. It's a automatic shotgun. My dream shotgun.

They are only temperate because there are not many of them. In a few years they will be dictating to you. Thanks GWB, thanks Republicans, thanks National Review. Just what are you conserving?

Oh yeah, our old friend Thomas Nast. Famous for the defeat of Boss Tweed. Also famous, in his day, for his hatred of Irish immigrants and the Catholic Church.
Funny how that Catholic prejudice still prevails in this country. I read a post by a FReeper just yesterday that indicated his bigotry.

One thing that really gets to me about Islam is its hatred towards women. A man will rape a woman knowing that her own male relatives will murder her for some sick concept of false honor.
Islam rapes its women twice.

What's your point? A veiled threat? The point is what it has always been with them. It isn't a "veiled threat" it is an outright attempt at extortion, and should be treated as such. The Islamic world has absolutely no right to continue this crude extortion, and it should be called what it is, uncivilized and criminal...

There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. They keep saying this as if it should matter. I think they are trying to suggest a threat with it.
