Oh, I agree...I just thought that Peach made an excellent point that the US media did not hesitate to show pics when they knew they would damage our Prez or troops....

You know darn right well making a target of random Americans is a legitimate press function.
Making a target of the tehmselves is not. They're not set up for that sort of thing ;o)
...... but I have read that the scumbag imams and sheikhs who are stirring this up have distributed pamphlets with a couple of far more incendiary cartoons that are NOT the ones published by any of these newspapers - those other cartoons apparently DO show their precious prophet in various sexually degrading situations, etc. In other words, some radical Islamo-fascist agitators are busy stirring this up with FAKE cartoons that they use to make everything worse (or better from their perspective, since they are trying to turn morons into suicide bombers, etc.).
Maybe they feel they are just following the Dan Blather school of "fake but accurate" - i.e., they pass around cartoons that they claim Europeans really wanted to publish.... and maybe, just maybe, they're right!!

The networks (CBS most of all) were delighted to rile up the Islamo-fascists with the Abu Ghraib photos and stories because they did not fear any resulting dangers for the press - in fact, they knew in their bones that the Islamo-fascists would be most grateful to their allies, the western media, for handing the such a propaganda coup - only our wonderful GIs and Marines would be in greater danger, not the journalists, so the networks didn't care..... but now that it's story which could backfire against US journalists (personal safety issues, etc.) the networks are suddenly full of concern and a grave sense of responsibility....
Look at Clinton, the Death culties bombed the USS Cole (amongst other things) in which 17 servicemen lost their lives and 39 were injured. That was an absolute act of war, and what did Clinton do? He immediately surrendered.
To quote the rapist;
"If, as it now appears, this was an act of terrorism, it was a despicable and cowardly act. We will find out who was responsible and hold them accountable."
How many times did we hear that saying "We will hold them accountable" in those 8 years? It was never ending...It was another way of saying "We surrender".
The animal accountable was Bin Laden, the animal who put Clinton into a fetal position under his desk, the animal who who was allowed to trounce over the US over and over and over for 8 freggin` years. And when 911 came along, who did liberals blame? Bush.
Now that Bush has shown he will only take one trouncing, how do liberals act? "Cower some more".
True leaders do not "cower"..True leaders do not cower whatever the cost, they do not cower under the worst kind of pressure, and this President has shown he will never cower despite some of the worst pressure I have ever witnessed one human being go through in my entire life.
Can you imagine the pressure on this guy? Can you imagine the letters he gets in this day and age of emails and high communication? Can you imagine how he feels when he visits 19 year old vets who have had their legs blown off, arms blown off or their faces blown off?
I drive a taxi in NYC and once in a while I get some Washington types and Iraq Vets who tell me all this stuff the press never reveals about Bush, yet the man will not cower.
This a man who came to lead this country at the right time, a leader who came from a miracle called an election for this horrible war we were forced into by these animals, and I thank God and Jesus Christ everyday that he is our President.
36 years of Islamic global terrorism, a terrorism that has attacked just about every country on this planet is fast coming to an end because of this leader of men called George Bush and if liberals don`t like it, well then F- THEM!
Rudy tried to get it removed, and the outcry was sickening. The more people complained about the disrespect, the more people went to the exhibit.
For sure our media are absolute scum who care very little about desecrating our values but seem so 'sensitive' to the values of our enemies.
That comPost 'cartoon' made me furious.
That they felt free to publish that but protect the muslims from 'insensitivity' doesn't surprise me at all.
A student had an blog that made fun of the President of the University and they shut that blog down.
Interesting how the attacks on the President are good, but the attacks on the school are not so good.
Great post!! The divide in this country is very wide between all of us who understand what GW is up against and how remarkable he has been in facing down both Islamo-fascists and whiny liberals.... and those whiny liberals who do not have any clue about winning the war on terror.
Not only that, but it was a PUBLIC museum funded by the city, so the issue wasn't about whether the scumbags were free to "enjoy" defiling the Madonna and all of Christianity in any privately funded setting they chose -- it was about whether the CITY should be funding and endorsing such a thing.
