Steady winds have just started in St. Helens, OR. Got my flashlight on hand, just in case. However, most of our power outages are caused by squirrels frying in the substation.

It's rather balmy, raining and the wind is picking up here on the plateau in the Bonney Lake area. Rats...

Interestingly, there has been little harsh wind here in the Windy City (Chicago) area all winter long. That may change if this system heads straight east!

Talking heads were worried about 80 - 90 mph wind hitting the Oregon coast. Portland is supposed to be hit by high winds and rain storms all night long. Wind may hit 75 mph in the Gorge and on Mt. Hood. Big snow storms will hit in the Cascade Mountains. This storm front will stay until noon tomorrow. Watch out for power lines down on the road.

I hope we pick up some of that snow out here in Montana! I could go for 10 degrees lower temperature, too! I like my snow frozen.

The wind is picking up now. It was dead calm awhile ago but now it is really starting to gust in North Kitsap County.

It is also raining fairly heavily.........wouldn't loose any sleep over it if this was all the heavier it would get............

Wow big gust just hit..........its going to be a long night!

If this doesn't drop a tree through the roof, I don't think anything will. ;p)

Sorry for the wind problem up there. We spent yesterday in Charlotte, NC; and the temperature was 71F, sunny, and no wind. Then again, up on Mt. Mitchell or Grand-Father Mtn. the winds can easily get over 150 mph... and this is not unusual.

All the best to all up in the NW. We just finished the final repairs on our properties down here in SoCal. We were nailed with 85 mph winds two weeks ago. Just finished the final repairs today. Our houses recived mostly shattered fences and naturally pruned trees and landscape dammage. I even found some leaves and twigs that blew into one of our attics and have no idea how they got there.

Good Luck and Stay Safe.

I take that back...now its steady around 10 mph with a few gusts. Pressure has dropped a fair amount.
