Now for those who say Kiwis have grown spines over the ROTP, think again. Unfortunately a majority in this country is brain dead...

You wonder if the "Ethic Affairs" minister would protest a showing of "Piss Chr!st"?
Hypocrites.

Anthing to appease the Muslim extremists. I wonder how the Lebanon Lions would respond if the cartoons were published in Australia?

Ethnic Affairs Minister Chris Carter has warned that the decision by two newspapers to publish cartoons depicting the Muslim Prophet Mohammed, undermines New Zealand's reputation as a tolerant country. If New Zealand is such a tolerant country, then surely it can tolerate free speech.
The cartoons have caused outrage across the Islamic world and Chris Carter says they could affect trade,
With apologies to the Danes, considering they are weathering some of the worst of this at the moment, sacrificing national pride for the sake of trade dollars is never a good idea...
It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation
For fear they should succumb and go astray
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested
You will find it better policy to say
"We never pay any one Danegeld
No matter how trifling the cost
For the end of that game is oppression and shame
And the nation that plays it is lost!"
...New Zealand's troops in Afghanistan...
I'm sure New Zealand's troops in Afghanistan would rather their government stood up for the things they are risking their necks for. and even the situation of the Auckland student currently held hostage in Iraq.
And that is called paying the Danegeld
But we've proved it again and again
That if once you have paid him the Danegeld
You never get rid of the Dane.

When we consider what New Zealanders are alleged to do to sheep after dark, it's not surprising one of their leaders would jump into bed with the moozies!

Whether it's the US State Dept. or NZ MPs, I don't see what business it is of any gov't telling newspapers what to print or not to print, regardless of whether the cartoons are offensive. And none of these official bodies have ever complained so far as I know about the constant insults to Christianity offered all the time, e.g., "Piss Christ," Offili's Madonna with elephant dung, "Corpus Christi" etc.
